An extraordinary quest, a magician’s powers, and the journey to find a kingdom.... Timoken is a prince from a secret kingdom. Before his birth, a forest-jinni bestowed upon him two magical gifts: a cloak made from the web of the last moon spider, and a potion called Alixir, the water of eternal life. Yet in exchange for the protection of these gifts, Timoken will always have one foot in the world of men and the other in the strange world of magic. When his peaceful kingdom is suddenly attacked, Timoken, and his sister, Zobayda, flee in search of a new land to call home, with only the jinni’s gifts and a talking camel. But the journey is wrought with danger, as Timoken and Zobayda are being hunted by viridees - evil creatures from the realm of enchantments that desperately seek the moon cloak. If Timoken ever hopes to escape the viridees and find a new kingdom, he must learn to harness his powers, and trust those he meets along the way.

This book was a wonderful sequel of the Charlie Bone series. It was exiting and fun to listen to. I am so exited to read the next book.
The narrator was incredible at interpreting the characters voices how I would imagine them. I would love to see him in following books!
Overall I absolutely loved it!
Amazing book!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes, but only to get the story line behind it.How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The story itself seemed very choppy and not descriptive like her previous novels were. I'm not sure if this was due to the narration (he spoke rather fast) or just the overall content. The perspective sounded more like you were reading from someone's diary with all the colorful details left out. What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Voices were pleasant, but he spoke too fast for my liking.Do you think Chronicles of the Red King: The Secret Kingdom needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes, as there is more story that is needed to fill the time until the Charlie Bone series begins.I love Jenny Nimmo's other books, but...
