Acerca de esta escucha

Old Canhoon, the City of Wonders, is having a population explosion as refugees from Tyrne and Roathes alike try to escape the Sa'ba Taalor. All along the border between the Blasted Lands and the Fellein Empire, armies clash, and the most powerful empire in the world is pushed back toward the old capital.

From the far east, the Pilgrim gathers an army of the faithful, heading for Old Canhoon. In Old Canhoon itself, the imperial family struggles against enemies old and new as the spies of their enemies begin removing threats to the gods of the Seven Forges and prepare the way for the invading armies of the Seven Kings.

In the distant Taalor valley, Andover Lashk continues his quest and must make a final decision while at the Mounds, something inhuman is awakened and set free. War is here. Blood will flow, and bodies will burn.

Made it 2/3 of the way through just because I had read other reviews that said it was worth the wait. Today I stopped waiting. So much senseless, graphic violence; no explanation, no clues.

Too many characters, new and old; too many plotlines.

Definitely not worth the wait for me. Realized I just don't care what happens anymore.

What did you like best about this story?

It flowed seamlessly from book two of the series and did not do too much rehashing of the story already told.

What about David DeVries’s performance did you like?

He does voices and accents very well. You can tell where someone is from by the accent and tone.

Any additional comments?

The author starts to get a bit wordy in some of his descriptions or the terran and surroundings. I like to have the descriptions of the area kept short and to the point. In the previous two books he was quite good at the descriptions but in this one he tends to drone on a bit. To the extent that it became almost tedious at some points. Still, all-in-all it is a well written and entertaining book.

I like the other two books, but this one was frustrating. the falians never got a single small victory. it was tragedy after tragedy,

It can be frustrating.

Ignore the high ratings on this title. I have the first a chance. When it ran less like a book and more like the first third of a proper story I thought ok second is highly rated maybe it finishes the first damn story arc. No. It was worse. It just kept building up the bad for the NEXT story with no real advance of its own story. This series is like a massive long end of movie dun-dun-duuuuun stinger for the next movie.

Grim dark has its limits. Seven books that none have a normal story arc but instead feed the next is just not worth it.
