Yes. Enchanting narration. Lilting, varied, rhythmic speech patterns.

Distinct, entertaining character development and interesting plot.

Nikki is predictable, stereotypic hard-as-nails copper. Also adorable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would prefer a few chapters nightly. Pleasant way to wind down.

I like the British argot. Different and interesting.

If you love Jackman and Evans, this fills the void with another likable crew. Narrator does a great job!

Ellis developed a set of fully dimensional and rich characters. They’re didn’t develop into what I expected and I appreciate the extra things that make them not cliché. I absolutely loved the ending; it came out of nowhere and sewed things up nicely, but not too nicely.

She develops her characters’ personalities beautifully. Like watching a master sculptor. And a fun, exciting story!!

I expected another mediocre girl DI story, but found it to be very good. The writing is intelligent, the story line interesting and the narrator did a good job.
