This book came into my life at the perfect time. My husband and I found ourselves faced with some unsurmountable challenges. As we stepped into Kristen’s story, we felt seen, heard and not so alone. Though her son Zachary faced an impossible season of deep dark pain, the season miraculously ends in victory and triumphant breakthrough. We found ourselves inside of the story in places, able to empathize and feel the gravity of such a heavy dark season. Kristen follows each chapter of this impossible journey with beautiful wisdom from the pages of scripture. She explains practical scenarios of how to overcome darkness with light that eventually led to the miraculous breakthrough she and her son both received. This testimony of God’s faithfulness in such a dark season is one that everyone can relate to and must read! It brings hope, healing and peace to those who have searched and tried everything when all hope seems lost. This is a book I know I will continue to look to for inspiration, wisdom and hope in the future. I’m intimately familiar with the fierce, often invisible, spiritual attacks that target our children and us. That’s why this impactful and thought-provoking book was a challenging yet necessary read. My son fought his own spiritual battles and ultimately paid with his life when God allowed a single bullet to kill him instantly.

Even if you are a Christian, like my son, we are all susceptible to Satan’s influence. That’s when we must relinquish control to God’s strength and unwavering presence. I wish that could have been my son, but it was not. At least I know Luke is in Heaven, at peace, and I will see him again one day.

This book told the incredible story of the demonic oppression/torment of the author's son, and the truths and plan that God gave her and her husband to fight for and facilitate his healing.

But in reality, this story and these truths are for all of us. I very suddenly and unexpectedly lost my husband a year ago. Although I've had a relationship with Christ for many years, through this book, I learned so much about my identity in Christ, and how some of my reactions and responses to his death were actually adding to my already excruciating pain.

We are never alone in our sorrow; God is ready and waiting for us to seek Him out for our game plan. And He never disappoints.

The Spirit of God spoke to me many times through Kristen's sharing, and helped me to find a new way forward.

I will share this book with its gripping story with all the parents of preteens and teenagers in my life. This book gives insight into how children can stubble into trouble. Trouble can take them into places they never intended to go. The courageous author and her husband have a strong prayer life and bond with Jesus. Therefore, it's God who gives her the strategy to fight. We don't know when our battle is coming but we need our relationships to be steadfast. This book is full of tools the reader can use now to strengthen their relationship with God. The afterword the bonus section and the book were unexpected delights. A must-read for all young parents.

This book shows the power of a praying mom. When Satan decides to attack her son, she did not back down.
This was basically a playbook for how she handled the spiritual attack on her son through each phase.

I wish the book was more about her son and the story of the attack, but I can see how this would and possibly will be valuable in the fitting I ever experience such a thing

My favorite part of this book is that the author words many sections in an inclusive way; such as ,.. “when this happens we may feel… we may do…. I found this refreshing because when I was depressed or struggling with problems that felt isolating and impossible, this wording would have kept the doors open to receive the truth being shared. When speakers give examples that let a hurting person know that they DONT relate to how bad the situation really is, it hurts worse, it makes them feel more alone. So the amount of times this author speaks generally really stood out and made a difference in opening her message up to the most people.

The message itself was profound and overall very healing and easy to receive. Most of the chapters could be listened to simply as good messages poured into a thirsty soul. The thread of the authors personal story gets lost in some of the middle chapters, and the opening chapter is by far the weakest. I felt a little dread of what I had gotten myself into during the opening chapter. Once that was out of the way, it was like a wider and wider green pasture of goodness opened and real healing poured out of the messages in each chapter. Some may not make it to the end if you’re trying to find out how Zachary’s story ends or exactly how he went from “better” to “well”… that got lost for me and I only made it 3-4 of the way through the book. However I can recommend it with my whole heart because I know healing is truly pouring out of this book and I will return and enjoy it again.
