Acerca de esta escucha

After 200 years of exile, King Maric has allowed the legendary Grey Wardens to finally return to Ferelden. When they come, however, they bring dire news: one of their own has escaped into the Deep Roads and aligned himself with their ancient enemy, the monstrous darkspawn.

The Grey Wardens need Maric's help, and he reluctantly agrees to lead them into the passages he traveled through many years before, chasing after a deadly secret that will threaten to destroy not only the Grey Wardens - but also the kingdom above.

probably my second favorite of all the dragonage novels. the calling is nearly perfect as a story and my only quip with the reader is that he mistakenly gives dwarves Scottish accents (if you have any knowledge of the series then you might've noticed that in this world dwarves have an accent more aligned with the American West. Still it was a wonderful story and I've listened to it three times in the past year.

a fantastic Dragonage book

If you enjoyed The Stolen Throne, you will absolutely enjoy this followup. The story is a good one on its own but knowing the context from the previous book gives a lot of emotional depth. The character arcs are very engaging and the pacing gripping. You will find yourself deeply empathizing with the entire cast as you progress through the story. This novel also gives even greater and more important background to the Origins game. Highly recommended!

A great followup of the previous novel

I've played the games an innumerous amount of times, listened to the Dragon Age Lorecast but have only recently started the novels, & BY THE MAKER I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT!! Stolen Throne & this 1 blew me away, I was not expecting them to be soo good yo! King Maric is a fantastic character, kinda hard to believe Cailan is his son cuz that boi sux! Duncan & Pheonia were a legit surprise throughout, I still hate the Grey Wardens & this novel only furthered that disliking. I seriously wanna hop back into the games & Book 3.

fantastic DA novel

Not to say that I didn't enjoy The Stolen Throne but I feel like feedback was taken from that book and applied to the one. The Calling is even better than the previous book. As a huge Dragon Age fan I loved the hinting at other tidbits of lore seen in the games and even a few sort of obscure references.

Fantastic display of the Dragon Age Setting

Anyone who enjoys the Dragon Age games will enjoy this. It also is a pretty solid Fantasy novel.

Great read.

A wonderful sequel to The Stolen Throne, this novel follows our rebel prince Meric (who is now the king of Ferelden) and his new Grey Warden allies as they attempt the rescue of another fellow Warden imprisoned by Darkspawn. Any fan of the Dragon Age video game series will lose their MIND at the lore revelations & familiar-character backstory in this novel. However, even those not a fan of the video games can enjoy this tense & unpredictable adventure into the Deep Roads. Performed excellently by Stephen Hoye, this book and its endearing characters had me laughing out loud, tensing in anticipation, and crying my eyes out. I can’t remember the last time a book had me openly emoting so strongly & so often!

An Emotional & Exciting Adventure!
