What did you like best about Erotic Poetry Collection? What did you like least?

Excellent choice of poems, although it would been much better if half were by women & half were read by women. But the real problem with the way Audible records poetry is that there are no pauses between poems. Poems deserve to be separated by each from each; listeners need at least a beat or two to absorb the dense, rich language, performance, and intent.

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

No.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

No.

Did Erotic Poetry Collection inspire you to do anything?

Acquire more English poetry.

Pause Between Poems, Please!

Though I sampled this book before buying it, I hadn’t fully realized how the pretentiousness of the narrator would squeeze every ounce of joy out of the poetry. The reader is a self-satire. Remember Percy Dovetoncils, the poet created by Ernie Kovacs; now that was fun and funny, but Bart Wolffe isn’t playing for laughs. He seems to think he’s giving the poems a highbrow interpretation with his exaggerated pronunciation. I can imagine him being on a 19th Chautauqua circuit bringing culture to the hinterlands. A new recording should be made by a reader who truly understands and appreciates the poetry.

Abominable narration
