Lucy Resnick's nerves are as tight as a tea cozy. Word travels fast in Buttercup. When the killer learns Lucy's on the trail, Lucy finds she needs more than her reporting skills to save her friend - she needs a Christmas miracle.

This was a fun listen. I listened to the first book in this series a little over a year ago and I have been wanting to get back to it ever since. Since I am currently in the middle of a three month Kindle Unlimited membership, I grabbed this just as soon as I saw that it was available in the program. This is the second book in the Dewberry Farm Mysteries series but I think that it would work perfectly fine. It was really nice to spend a bit of time with Lucy and the other characters from Buttercup.

I didn't even realize that this was a Christmas story until I got started listening. My eyes are not great anymore so I did not notice the Christmas lights on the cover and I rarely read blurbs very closely so I was pretty clueless. If you are not a fan of Christmas stories, this really only had a touch of the holiday worked into the story.

There were quite a few things going on in this book and it was great watching Lucy try to figure everything out. She happens to be around when a body is pulled from a fire and quickly notices that there might be something strange about the situation. Her best friend's teenage daughter has runaway to get married causing quite a bit of drama. Her best friend ends up in jail but Lucy knows she is innocent so she works to find the information that lead to the real criminal. To top everything off, someone is busy looking for treasure in town and is even digging around on Lucy's farm.

I liked the characters quite a bit. Lucy is great and has a lot of spunk. She really is happy in the little town of Buttercup and can handle difficult situations very well. Her boyfriend wasn't around a whole lot in this book and I did miss him a little but their relationship did have some progress which I was happy with. Lucy's friends played an important role and the goats she adopts at the beginning of the story added a few interesting moments.

I thought that the mystery was really well done. I liked how some things connected to other things going on in the book while others were really unrelated. I had a few suspicions but I couldn't get everything figured out until it was revealed in most cases which added to the fun. There were some pretty exciting moments where I wasn't really sure how things would work out. This was one of those books that I kept wanting to listen to just a bit more because I had to know what was going to happen next.

Teri Clark Linden does a great job with the narration. I really felt like I was right there with Lucy as she was making her way through the story. I think she handled all of the character voices very well and really brought the story to life. I wouldn't hesitate to listen to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this story had a great cast of characters and a compelling mystery. I really have enjoyed the audiobooks for the first two books and must admit that I was disappointed to find that no audiobook is currently available for the remainder of the series but I would still like to finish the series soon.

I love murder mysteries and this one didn't disappoint. I love the simplicity of this story having grown up in the country myself. I miss small town living where everybody knows everybody and not afraid to pitch in and help. This story brings this together and so much more. I loved the goats antics, can't help but laugh. My heart broke at the beginning of the story when a puppy was barely hanging onto life after being brought out of the burning house even though I knew this was just a story and not actual reality. I'm so glad the puppy made a full recovery. The clues given by the psychic and Lucy's grandmothers help makes the story even more touching. So if you are interested in this story grab a sweet glass of iced tea, put your feet up, and enjoy the sweet life of Dewberry Farm.

For almost half the audio I was not thrilled with the narration at all, I was able to get thru it due to the excellent story. Someone with a slight Texas accent would be perfect.

This book is a wonderful escape to a cozy town with quirky and humorous characters. I love the story and the narration. Worth more than 5 stars.

I was disappointed with the he/she said. It reminds me of my school days, when I had to write essays. I felt like she was trying to fulfill a word quota. Like my 500 word essays. I couldn’t enjoy the story for all the he said, she said.

Book Two in the Dewberry Farm series finds Lucy Resnick trying to contain her two goats, Hot Lips and Gidget, while her old truck is on its last legs. Someone is digging up the town, including her own farm in search of buried treasure, Confederate Gold . . . an ages old tale that most folks believe is hog wash . . . It is the holiday season and the Christmas market is in full swing. It is the season of giving. Lucy's friend, Molly is busy distributing friendship bread and starter to the townsfolk, when Krystal, one of the waitresses at the Blue Onion Cafe is found dead inside her burned out house. But it seems that Krystal was dead BEFORE the fire, poisoned . . . and now the lazy sheriff, Rooster, locks up Molly, saying that her bread is the culprit . . . Molly is in jail . . . Her teenage daughter, Brittany has run off with her boyfriend, son of the local charismatic preacher, and now Lucy's parents have come to the farm for a visit. If that's not enough to put Lucy's coping skills to the test, her new boyfriend, veterinarian, Tobias, has been covering two clinics, and has been seen having dinner with his ex-wife, who is in town looking for a weekend cabin. I love this series . . . clean, wholesome, but still has real life issues . . . and full of the crazies that plague small and large communities alike . . . I'm partial though, to the farm life, the goat shenanigans, cow escapes, and homemade goodies . . . and particularly life at grandma's house . . . great story and great resolution! Hope there are more to come!,

A quaint little town and story. I can easily relate to Lucy as I have a small farm myself. A few continuity errors in and between this story and the first one, and a couple of technical errors regarding the recipes. I'd love to proofread the next book for them before it goes to publishing!

Another great book in this series. I love the characters and the narrator really brings the to life. I look forward to more in this series and i hope the others will be in audiobook form in the future.
