Acerca de esta escucha
Zoey
I have loved Jax since I was a kid. He's my best friend. I thought he would be my forever. But that night changed me. It broke me. As much as I love him, he deserves more than I have to give. I need to let him go.
Jax
My best friend's sister. My best friend. My lover. All the titles that I can give Zoey can't begin to describe how I feel for her. She is my everything. That night damaged her so severely, I'm not sure what I can do to get her back. But I won't give up. I can't. I have to fight for her because she is my love. She is my life.

As for the audiobook, narrated by Stewart Daniels, I found the narration to be a mismatch for the tone of the story. Daniels has a light and somewhat airy voice, which doesn’t quite convey the gravity of the darker, more traumatic scenes. The story delves into some very intense and emotional moments, but the narrator’s delivery felt too detached from the characters’ pain and inner turmoil. It was difficult to feel the weight of the emotions they were experiencing, which took away from the overall impact of the narrative.
While I enjoyed the story and appreciated the character arcs, I do believe a different narrator with a more emotionally grounded tone could have done the book greater justice. The balance between romance and trauma was there, but I needed a bit more intensity to truly connect with the characters on a deeper level.
Overall, Fighting for His Life is a solid start to The Men of River City series. Fans of emotional romance and stories of overcoming trauma will find much to appreciate here, but I would recommend reading the physical or eBook version for a more immersive experience, as the audiobook didn’t quite capture the weight of the story for me.
