I was used to doing things alone, just me and my trusty dog, Duke. We were a solo team ever since my partner retired and I transferred over to the K-9 unit. Duke was the best police officer I'd ever worked with, and the only male I needed in my life. That was until Travis Cooper, beefcake firefighter, caught a job I'm looking into.

He was first on the scene of a major arson, and because we each had a unique set of skills, the brass thought it would be a good idea for us to work together. I'll never forget the first time he looked into my eyes and said, "You're in over your head, girl scout."

That's when I knew the gloves were coming off. I was going to give Travis a whole lot more than he bargained for, starting by knocking him down a few pegs.

An enemies to lovers story.
Travis and Alaina are on a fire investigation.She’s a strong willed cop. He’s the sexy hot cover of the fireman’s calendar.He’s arrogant, grumpy and not looking for romance.
It is a short , steamy story which could ended in a cliffhanger. I wish it was longer.
Th narration was good.

I’m always up for a good enemies to lovers. This one seemed a little predictable, but having a cute K9 cop really brought it home for me. I liked the tension between the 2 main characters and their journey to the HEA.

This book is captivating; it has a great storyline, some steamy romance and is very good. I can't wait to read the next in the series!

Such a good book! I enjoyed the storyline and the characters! She is prickly and he is affable. They both have to figure out how to work together while ignoring their explosive chemistry. I loved the suspense but was bot thrilled with the ending. The romance got concluded but the story did not. It left me feeling kind of unfinished.
I listened to this on audio. Carrie Coello and Rowan Knightly did the narration. They both do a good job. The male narrator is choppy and boxy which took a bit to get used to.

This story involves Alaina, a K-9 police officer and Travis, a firefighter/temporary arson investigator. Alaina and Travis are partnered together to solve one arson crime which turns into three. Their relationship at the beginning is strained-confrontational to charged with lust. Sorry, but Travis is a jerk and I cannot root for him at all. When they eventually end up together it is disappointing. Also, the ending was extremely abrupt. The case was solved-perpetrator arrested so over. The loose ends were not addressed and it feels unfinished. The narration by Carrie Coello and Rowan Knightly was excellent. They were both very good in their roles. I received this audiobook or free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review.
