The founder of Latina Rebels and a “Latinx Activist You Should Know” (Teen Vogue) arms women of color with the tools and knowledge they need to find success on their own terms.

For generations, Brown girls have had to push against powerful forces of sexism, racism, and classism, often feeling alone in the struggle. By founding Latina Rebels, Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez has created a community to help women fight together. In For Brown Girls with Sharp Edges and Tender Hearts, she offers wisdom and a liberating path forward for all women of color. She crafts powerful ways to address the challenges Brown girls face, from imposter syndrome to colorism. She empowers women to decolonize their worldview, and defy “universal” White narratives, by telling their own stories. Her book guides women of color toward a sense of pride and sisterhood and offers essential tools to energize a movement.

May it spark a fire within you.

The more time I spent with this book the more I found in common with this Author. Now, I have the words and terminology to express my own experience. I want thank the author for letting me into her world. You are brave. It was a pleasure listening to this book. I’m so glad I’ve listened to this book rather than read it. Her voice and tones help guide me into this book.

Insightful and eye-opening.

I believe we all have a story and I’m so glad that Prisca was able to share hers. It was so personal that it was relatable. I would recommend all brown women and non brown women to read this book because I believe you can take something away wether it’s learn something new outside yourself, or feel validating based on similar experiences and empowered to tell your story.

Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodriguez's voice, her words, her powerful emotions lit within me a fire and validated my impressions of my own personal experiences. She was in mind. She voiced my pain and struggle; she represented my journey. This book is a eye opener to those who think one is stuck instead of acknowledging the real issues surrounding women of color. I adored this book, The empowerment in this book is delivered with love. I'm excited to share this book with my daughters and friends!

Thank you Prisca, thank you for writing this book, you have impacted my life for the better and I will always be grateful for your courage and determination.

The more I learn about the experiences of non-white folk, the more I question, why aren’t WE coming together and flipping this bi*+! on it’s head?!

Thank you for sharing your story, my Brown Sister. ✊🏾

Thank You, Prisca!

This book was healing for me. Growing up as a brown girl I had ALL these feelings. Feelings that were hard to explain, experiences that shaped me. Through this book I have found the words to help me describe these feelings. I feel like I have been validated. Less alone knowing my struggles are not unique to me but to other brown girls.

Healing
