The remarkable story of the author of Indian Boyhood's growth into the White world at his father's recommendation because he says the Indian's world is over; how Charles learns and adapts to it; and what he learns along the way.

The information about the life of Charles Eastman is fascinating but the narrator is very monotone and the constant accompanying music is relaxing but takes away from the overall book. This should be read in schools along side other historical biographies of people who made a large impact on the formation of our country.

Biography of a Sioux Indian in the Early 20th Century

While I commend Audible for including this text in its library, I am disappointed with the quality of narration. The narrator often stumbles through sentences, misreads words and sentences, and mispronounces words and names. (The poor production value and incessant piano music doesn’t help anything, either.)

Ohiyesa (Charles Eastman) is a towering figure in the Native American literary tradition. His work deserves to be better presented.

An important narrative poorly narrated

This narrator sounds either drunk or otherwise cognitively impaired. He not only mispronounces words, he stumbles through sentences and clearly frequently doesn’t understand the import or meaning of the passages, phrases, and words he speaks. Baffling performance.
