Fighting for love, honor, and freedom on the galaxy’s lawless outer rim....
When several women from Earth find themselves abducted from a space station by alien slavers, life becomes a battle for survival on a dangerous desert planet.
Includes:
Gladiator: When Earth space marine Harper Adams finds herself abducted by alien slavers, her life turns into a battle for survival. Dumped into an arena on a desert planet on the outer rim, she finds herself face to face with a big, tattooed alien gladiator...the champion of the Kor Magna Arena.
Warrior: It was supposed to be an exciting job on a space station, but instead, scientist Dr. Regan Forrest finds herself fighting for her life when she’s kidnapped by alien slavers. Far from Earth and forced into a violent gladiatorial arena on the outer rim, she finds herself swept into the brawny arms of a big, wild alien gladiator.
Hero: Raised from birth to be a soldier, Kace Tameron is a disciplined, military-trained gladiator. He is on contract to the Kor Magna Arena to hone his fighting skills on the blood-soaked arena sand and then return to the military. He lives for one thing: To protect his planet, and on his world, love is forbidden. But then he collides with a feisty redhead from Earth who threatens to shatter his legendary control.

Vivienne Leheny does a great job with the narration and playing multiple characters. I enjoyed her telling of the story.
Strong women, alpha warriors, so much fun

We meet Harper, Regan, and Rory of Earth and once they've been abducted by aliens through a wormhole, we also see the gladiators of the House of Galen upon their rescues. Mmmm. Think Stargate, a little K & R, mixed with the Coliseum games of Rome.
Love. Great stories, characters, and chemistry.

I liked the escape and the book wasn't all about sex. It was nice to have an actual plot that is developing through the stories aside from the lather rinse repeat plotline. The earthling characters get "rescued," they feel the need to save their friend who is also stranded, is assisted by some super hot dude who knows how to fight, they rescue the friend, and now the baton has been passed. There is a bit more conflict going on than that, how they got there, how their presence is changing Kor Magna, etc that I am interested to learn more about.
Some of the writing seems kind of poorly thought out. For example: There are parts in the stories here and there where our big bad heroes go places in disguise (just all in black) to sneak in somewhere. They're these huge famous gladiators who go someplace where they are easily recognizable, "in disguise," and then call each other by their real names.. loudly. I mean, yes, bad guys are dumb, but come on really? At least give your characters some nicknames to call each other when they are breaking into their rivals property where they will most definitely run into somebody who would recognize them by name (if they don't by the size and shape of them). Some of the stupidity was poorly explained away, how there were really are no rules, blah blah, but then why even bother trying to disguise themselves?
I'm also kind of sick of the bad guys being so dumb, I read a lot so when I listened to this I was wondering how so many authors fall into the trap of making the villains so stupid and easy to manipulate or predict. If this was the case, there really shouldn't be much conflict in the plot at all.... these villains shouldn't hold as much power as they do to the story. So it gets a little frustrating, this author isn't the only one guilty of doing this but ugh, I think she's capable of better.
But overall, I still enjoyed listening to the story, the scenes were hot and I would still recommend this box set for an escape. This is a whole new world for me and I can easily picture the places they go with the short and efficient description of the settings. It's like comfort food, you kind of know what you're getting, it's a guilty little pleasure that satisfies that itch for a little heat in your entertainment.
Good escape
