What happens when an ex-witch/medium, an ex-nun, a demon, and a dead British spy meet? Murder!

After a really busy summer, things have settled down for my crew here in Ebenezer Falls. That is, until my favorite spy, Win, has a crazy recollection of the night he was murdered. His memory leads us to the new tattoo artist in town who just happens to be an ex-nun named Trixie Lavender.

Sister Trixie has a gifted tattoo artist for a sidekick who just happens to be a demon straight from the bowels of Hell... A demon who, coincidentally, is accused of murder, that is. You know what that means - Stevie and the gang to the rescue!

Spoilers:
It’s a blizzard out there but Stevie is too antsy to stay inside. She decides to get pastries and welcome the new shop owners a few doors down. Of course they find the body of their new landlord in their storage closet. It doesn’t help that he lied to them about having no documentation and immediately raised the rent.
Trixie Lavender is a former nun who is sometimes possessed. Her good friend Coop is so socially inept and can hear the spies that it isn’t long before they find out she is a demon escaped from hell. But she’s trying to be a good person. Coop has her own winged familiar.
It only takes a few interviews before the bad uns come after Stevie, almost by accident, but it’s an epic battle that has her going through the shop’s front window.
Jackson does a decent job with narration.

there were a few lol funny parts, but the best by Far, was when Stevie was telling Dana she was practicing her Karate Kid. i laughed like a loon!😂
thanx for that, DC, i needed it, and this book, this series, has truly been giving me what i needed 💞

I enjoy listening to this series. It gets more engaging as you listen to each book. But there was areas concerning Coup and Twixie that wasn’t addressed, so maybe they will be in other issues.

I like the book, just HATE how this book is read. 80% of it is read like she’s bored reading it. It’s horrible I ended up buying the book and just reading it instead.

Cassidy never disappoints.
Clever characters, a murder mystery, and a talking bat.
New characters are introduced in this story and now I can’t wait for the spinoff series.

There were some incredibly funny scenes, mostly involving Stevie and Officer Dana. I had noticed her verbose insanity before this book but it just kept going on and on in this audiobook. I strongly suspect who the demon was that was possessing people in the church.
I don’t understand why Whiskey went into the Tattoo parlor leading to the climax of the book.
