Layla is enjoying a beautiful moorland walk in the English countryside when suddenly, clouds start to roll in. The weather was forecast to be fine all day, so Layla is woefully unprepared when the heavens open and her visibility is reduced to next to nothing. Trying hard not to panic, she carefully makes her way towards a remote hut she spotted before the fog descended. When she arrives, though, she discovers park ranger Stuart already there, and luckily for her, he’s much more prepared than she is, and they soon find a way to pass the time until the storm blows over.

A steamy SHORT read / listen. Fast paced - our main characters are Layla and Stuart. Layla finds herself caught in unexpected weather and stumbles upon Stuart who is able to assist. Smooth narration and an overall good flowing storyline. Overall a good, short listen with a definite storyline and a great steamy scene.

A short, cute story. You really get to know the characters, but it takes a while to get going. Too bad the narration doesn’t match. Too slow and rote to make it come alive.

Amazing, although this story is short it does keep you on your toes.most of all the characters go from enemies to lovers. Above all I must sat that the narrator was excellent.

This is a new author to me, Lucy Felthouse did an awesome job with this story. The performer did great at bringing it alive.

This was a steamy and enjoyable very short story about two people getting stuck in bad weather and taking shelter in an abandoned house and finding something to occupy their time to stay warm. I don't think the narrator was the right fit for this story as it was read rather slowly, and I almost fell asleep in the beginning of the story. But if I would recommend this book if you're looking for a quick enjoyable read. This was my first story by this author.

This audiobook is just as described, short and sweet(ish) with a little bit of steam.
It ticks a couple of boxes: older guy and younger woman, stranded together, enemies to lovers (sort of they don't hit it off at first) and steamy encounters with a stranger.
Most of the story around was about Layla. Some of her back story and her internal mussing as she wanders around the countryside on her walk. And I will admit I did find myself slightly frustrated with Layla at times. We do get some of Stuart's thoughts after they meet. His thoughts were just enough to give you a feel for his character. I would have preferred to have some of the earlier parts with his pov to get to know him better.
The steamy stuff was well steamy but not overly so and is on the shorter side. The story is an HFN with no epilogue and just a mention of plans to meet up again in the future.
Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it and perhaps listen to it again.

For such a short story, the details are all there and the narrator was lovely for Layla, she sounded like a perfect modern English rose.

This isn’t the first Lucy Felthouse book I have listened to, but it was a change from The Heiress's Harem.
I will be looking at listening to other books by this author in the future.

Just an hour listen. Filled with beautiful nature, hiking in the mountains. In a hut sheltered from the weather with a hot park ranger. A fantasy come true!
