Acerca de esta escucha

Greece has around 6.000 islands, of which 227 are inhabited. In this tourist guide I will present 65 of them, as these are the most known with a ferry connection and some tourist infrastructure like accommodation and taverns. I will help you decide which island is the right for you and provide you with everything you need to have a great vacation. There is information regarding beaches, attractions, accommodation, access, connections, transportation, food & drink, purchases, and more.

For many years me and my wife have been island hopping in the Greek islands every summer. Island hoping is the best and most cost-effective way to see more of Greece. This is why I have included a section of direct island connections (without having to go through Piraeus or some other mainland port) for every island. Furthermore, visiting two or more islands makes you feel your holiday was longer, compared to staying on one island for the same number of days. An interesting alternative is to go on a daily trip from the island you are staying to a very small one, like visiting Koufonisia from Naxos or visiting Symi from Rhodes. This is also a good way to get to see an island where it is hard or pricey to stay.

Greece, especially the Greek islands, is a very safe place where you can walk around anytime, even at night. Greek people are friendly and hospitality in Greece is almost sacred by locals since ancient times. Most people in Greece speak English, especially young people, and most signs are also in English, so you will have no trouble getting around.

So go ahead. Find an island you have never seen before, and get ready to have a great holiday!
