Young Jessie Farrell is always being left behind. When she gets lost in a corn maze on Halloween Eve, she is befriended by a unicorn named Gus who takes her on an adventure to meet the Spirit Bear who guards the pumpkin patch from a pumpkin-stealing rat.

This is the first in a series of short bedtime stories about Jessie and Gus, son of the unicorn king. Suitable for ages 3 to 8.

Story:
This is a short story about a young girl's experience as she gets separated from the rest of her family one fall night in a corn maze. It shows our little heroin experiencing her fears of the dark when she discovers two mystical friends that come to aid her as she finds her way back to safety.


Narration:
The narration is fine and delivers the story without technical issues or anything irritating.

A fall adventure for your Child's fertile mind

What a cute story! Brings back fond memories! It's nice to be taken away so effortlessly to such a fun and magical place. Great story and the narration was awesome. I think any little one (and even the bigger/older ones :-)) would LOVE it! Jessie and Gus are a great combination :)

Who doesn't love Unicorns and Halloween!?

This story is a magical Halloween tale that kids will enjoy, and the length is perfect for their short attention spans. Listening to this book reminded me of sitting in the library listening to story time with my kids.The reader (and author) of the audio book has a pleasant storytelling voice. Instead of changing voices for the different characters, she names off the character who is speaking. While I personally found that a little distracting, it might make it easier for young children who have a hard time keeping track of who is who. I love the cover!

A magical Halloween story with a unicorn

This is a cute children's fantasy story which follows the traditional formula of: kid feels unappreciated, kid is separated from family where they meet fantasy creatures inaccessible to adults, kid has adventure, kid is returned to worried family who tries to convince them that the fantasy wasn't real. Pretty routine for adults who've seen a thousand iterations of this formula, but it works for kids. The formula is so often repeated for good reason; it resonates with kids.

Audiobook: Gus ( Unicorn Daze, Book 1 )

Gus was a super cute short children's story. I think the time was perfect but maybe the age group should be a little older, say 4-7 rather than 0-4. I suspect a little older age group would understand it better and be more entertained. I myself loved it. I think my youngest grandkiddo would enjoy it as well.

The narration by Laura Hesse was good. I've listened to her before and enjoy her work.

A Really Cute Children's Story w/ Cute Characters

Overall my kids and I enjoyed the story, it was cute and fun. The narrator's voice was a little monotone and parts tended to run together making it a little bit difficult to focus and follow a long some times

I love this book's richly descriptive fall scenery. It really puts you in the mood for Halloween. The author who also narrates this book, did a really good job. At times the audio recording had some static, but it wasn't so bad that it's distracting. I highly recommend this book for kids who love the fun of fall, even the big kids like me.😉

I took this book just because I was thinking to give it to my nieces and nephew to listen to but I listen to it first and actually as a 27 years old I enjoyed it it was adorable and very sweet and the next little people that will listen to it will tell me their opinion of course but I think it's very cute and very good

This was a fun book and my 12 yr granddaughter loved it! She enjoys fantasy and unicorns are her favorite! She looks forward to listening to the other books in the series.
