Acerca de esta escucha

Era Gualtieri—public enemy #1, swashbuckler, provocateur, hero, villain, philosopher, madman—is about to have the worst Holiday Season of his life...

For starters: Prince Raphael Koschei, the so-called Hero of Luminar, is dead. Good riddance and all, but the assassin was none other than Era's bestie and perpetual "it's complicated," Liv.

As the Empire mourns its problematic fave, Era sees his chance to put a stop to House Koschei's "Island" conspiracy. But when he finds what he seeks, let's just say too much truth can be a biohazard.

As for Liv, she sets off on a desert pilgrimage to save a friend caught in the crossfire. When that goes off the rails, she's caught between a vengeful tyrant's plot and her own self-destructive brain.

The Koscheis' tyranny extends into not only this world, but the afterlife itself. And despite it all, Era, Liv, and Noah are the only three people who stand a chance against them—if they can stop having a new mental breakdown every five vogging minutes!

So, this is a very good follow-up to the original, if you liked the first, you'd like this.

However, theres one annoyance I have - Plot armor.

Now, what do I mean by this? You might assume its the lead characters that have plot armor, however, this is not the case. The main characters flow very well and get out of troubles on their own without (what I at least see as) plot armor.

Its the big bad villians that have it.. Over and over again, they survive the unsurvivable or the main characters dont finish them off due to {Insert contrived reason here}, and its frustrating.. Its like the main characters suddenly get hit by a -100 intellect and -100 wisdom spell, just so the villian can survive and do something even worse to the main characters.. Its silly and gets annoying.

But. Other than that. Its a wonderful listen.

A wonderful follow-up. Shame about the plot armor

Why isn't this an animated series? LOVE the MC's, bestiary and utter ridiculousness! If you like dark satire, litrpg and crazy, this is for you. Kinda like a love child from Monty Python, Sir Terry Pratchett and DCC.

So FUN!
