Ingrid Chastain readily agreed to accompany her father to deliver vaccines to a mining town in the Montana Territory. Micah Bradley left his work as a doctor after unintentionally bringing home the smallpox disease that killed his wife and daughter. But his self-imposed solitude in the wilds of Montana is broken when he finds Ingrid in desperate need of medical attention, and he's forced to face his regret and call on his doctoring skills once again.

Micah can't help but admire Ingrid's tenacious determination despite the severity of her injuries, until he learns the crate she brought contains smallpox vaccines to help quell a nearby outbreak. With Ingrid dead set on trekking through the mountains to deliver the medicine - with or without his help - he has no choice but to accompany her. As they set off through the treacherous, snow-covered Rocky Mountains against all odds, the journey ahead will change their lives more than they could have known.

A wonderful story that keeps your interest & is packed with surprises. It helps you picture what life may have been like for half a dozen different types of people in The Territories around that time in history. The best part is that most of the characters are living lives truly dedicated to God. I loved all the prayers, scripture, conversations and thoughts in which God's will is sought and help from Him is prayed for. This is a delightful book!

Never a dull moment, from beginning to end this story has the characters enduring trial after trial. Heartache, tears, pain, tragedy, illness, suffering where most would simply give up. But this author has you hoping they grow in God and fully depend on Him so the story will end well. Recommend to anyone wanting to grow in faith.

This book is full of action, drama, faith, and romance. It is well written and I was hooked from the first page and all the way to the end. The author brings the story to life with her words. You can visualize the scenery and feel all the excitement and emotions the characters are experiencing. If you like a good, Christian, historical romance that is not preachy, you will love reading this novel.

The narrator does an excellent job bringing this story to life.

I love this story 2 little kids meeting and connecting. Then deep in the woods in a far off state. God take a tragic accident and loss and brings those 2 children together again. Slowly over the days of recovery for one. They slower connect their memories together and the love God wants for them comes.

Misty’s stories always involve struggle and sacrifice and this is a prime example. Loved the young boy and the dog. Excellent pacing and narrator.
