Acerca de esta escucha

Judge. Jury. Executioner.

On a cold January morning, the killer executed Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse in broad daylight. Eight shots fired a block from the Kaufman County Courthouse. Two months later, a massacre. The day before Easter, the couple slept. Bunnies, eggs, a flower centerpiece gracing the table. Death rang their doorbell and filled the air with the rat-a-tat-tat of an assault weapon discharging round after round into their bodies.

Eric Williams and his wife, Kim, celebrated the murders with grilled steaks. Their crimes covered front pages around the world, many saying the killer placed a target square on the back of law enforcement. Williams planned to exact revenge on all those who had wronged him, one at a time. Throughout the spring of 2013, Williams sowed terror through a small Texas town, and a quest for vengeance turned to deadly obsession. His intention? To keep killing, until someone found a way to stop him.

interesting book that held my attention. I was shocked at the deviant behavior that lead to the deaths of three innocent people.

depressing that this awful man got by with devious behavior for so long.

Very well done, kept me enraptured through the whole book!! Just wished there was more context with the jury decision portion of the story.

Excellent Story

This book is a decent listen. I just don’t believe for one second the wife wasn’t a willing and eager participant.

Not bad.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator had a great presence and kept things very interesting. The story is written very well and I was captivated the whole time.

Very Engaging

These were terrible murders (all murders are). I liked learning more about Mark Hasse; sounds like a good fellow. I thought the book was too easy on Kim Williams; had months after Mark Hasse’s murder to seek sanctuary.
I knew Cynthia and Mike, and the book didn’t adequately convey how great they were. Cynthia wasn’t a flake. She was lovely. She and Mike exuded love.
Should people in elected positions get special treatment since they have most to lose? I don’t think so. I think Mike saw who Eric Williams was.
Sure a pity the many cops were too busy on the Aryan Nation goose chase to get the orthopedic records to disprove William’s fake sling.
It’s haunting that Mark Hasse and Mike and Cynthia McClellan knew and expected Eric Williams to try to kill them.
May they rest in peace.
Very sad.

It’s rare that a killer can be so ‘normal’—unassuming and a lawyer. When a relatively small theft of $600 leads to a loss of career and reputation, the rage and feeling of betrayal and injustice leads to the unthinkable. He just couldn’t let it go. The author is even handed in her analysis of the crime, showing compassion for the victims’ families while acknowledging the complexities of the killer.
I thoroughly enjoyed the narration. It was perhaps the best I’ve ever listened to, and I have 298 books in my Audible Library.

Unbelievable but true! Awesome narration too!

Well written, well researched, good narration! Author is so good at revealing motives and personalities of the persons involved. For this case, I knew the general outcome, but that did not keep from feeling the tension.

Excellent True Crime"

I was looking into something different, but came across this. The amount of detail that was included was always made it interesting. You really understood why he did these killings after listening to his life and what he experienced- not that you agreed with the killings but understood why he believed it was justified. One thing that flabbergasted me was that why the district attorney did not lock his residence door. I hope I never have to serve on a jury like this. I 100% agreed with their decision.

See Into a Killers Mind

This narrator's voice acting skills, or lack thereof, horrid. And an apparent inability to pronounce simple words, a well as differentiate between words and abbreviations, was distracting. She is definatly no Will Patton, or Frank Muller, that's for sure. The story is a good one though.

Terrible narration, great story!

the story is a contemporary one and is told in great detail. the signs were all there to stop the perpetrator but no one stood up to stop him. good story
