No one is coming to save you

The power lines crossing the road were clouded in smoke. He jumped back in the truck and turned left. He could see the roadside ablaze from a low burning grass fire. The asphalt was lit by the orange glow. The power lines draped beside the road crackled and tossed sparks into the overhanging limbs. The trees dripped fire. He pressed the accelerator harder and sped through the sparks and embers floating in the air. For several miles the grass and trees smoldered and burned underneath the power lines on either side of the road. He raced towards home.


Trevor Devane was busy building a business, raising a teenage daughter and trying to find a way out of this tiny town. Pete Wallace had his fill of war after two tours of Afghanistan and came back home to drink the rest of his days away in peace. When a series of massive solar flares erupt towards earth they are given little warning about the destruction that will alter the course of their lives, all the lives in their little town of Haleville and the lives of everyone else on the planet. Now they all must try to survive what happens when the world goes dark.
