Acerca de esta escucha

For all its brevity, Intermezzo is a beautiful and deeply profound piece, rightfully considered Kotsubinsky's best work. It speaks of an artist's ongoing struggle to create, in the midst of life and all its good, bad, and ugly aspects. It also acknowledges the need to escape and reset - but emphasizes this as a temporary measure only.

Extremely competent narration by Michael L. Brusasco, a voice communicating underlying feeling of the text as well as clear conveyance of surface meaning. On an emotional level, Mr. Brusasco never allows the hauntingly morose nature of the text to drag his delivery down to depressive depths, a descent to which lesser vocal talents would have taken us never to return. Rather, he is more inclined to take an even, matter-of-fact approach which helps us understand why some artists choose to become reclusive in an attempt to avoid the distractions of the world. Maria K's English translation is devoid of the awkwardness often associated with linguistic adaptations of Eastern literature. And, in this case, her work is as pleasing in audio as it is on the printed page.
