Over the years, I have had ideas or I framed ideas together in epiphanies and I wrote them down. I collected them into this book, Introspections, which is ideas that I wrote over thirty years. These are ideas that I think have merit. I share them in a book format to offer people an opportunity to think about topics that they might not otherwise have contemplated. The world is out there revolving around us. It is easier not to reflect too much about our existence, but I think many of us are trying to make sense out of our reality. This is a search for understanding. I have searched for some understanding of truth about my life. It is, however, the search for self-understanding that is significant. It is an ongoing, never-ending journey.
I don’t have one magical insight that explains it all. Really, no one has. The lack of belief in a comprehensive answer to everything doesn’t stop anyone from thinking. Questioning everything is healthy, and sometimes, illuminating. These introspections are not all of my thoughts on every issue. Like everyone, I have ideas and then promptly forget them. That is why I started writing them down. My idea of publishing these thoughts is to share them to allow other people to consider them. I cannot imagine going through life without thinking about my experiences and questioning what they mean.
For clarity, I have organized my introspections into four categories: Ideas, Family, Love, and Friends. In the Love section, I do not apologize about my musings about loving my wife, Carol. She has been a miracle to me in too many ways to enumerate. She is an endless subject of my emotions. I believe committed relationships are the most important feature of our lives.
Hopefully, you will enjoy the introspective concepts and they will provide insights for you to contemplate.
