Acerca de esta escucha

The Times has announced, much to Bertie's astonishment, the news of his engagement to the beautiful Bobbie Wickham. But worse is to come....Uncle Tom's antique silver cow-creamer has gone missing; Kipper Herring has libelled his and Bertie's former headmaster; leading British psychiatrist Sir Roderick Glossop is posing as a butler; and Aunt Dahlia's masterly French chef, Anatole, is once again becoming a pawn in a terrible power struggle. By a rare stroke of genius, Bertie finds a solution; he recalls Jeeves from his annual holiday, and the incomparable manservant sorts everybody out in his usual imperturbable style.©2014 P.G. Bertie, Jeeves, Aunt Dahlia, Bobbie Wickham and Sir Roderick Gossip are just a few of the memorable characters in this story. Hilarity and a happy ending as always!

A must read for Wodehouse fans

His style is too clipped and hurried--not at all relaxing or enjoyable. I can't finish the book. even though I know Wodehouse is full of laughs. Ian Carmichael, I am sorry to say, makes me miserable!

I cannot get past the narrator

I always love stories about Bertie and Jeeves but found the reading annoying. It should be a but more posh and definitely not so harsh. I found it a bit difficult to always know which character was speaking.

story fun, don't like reader

Ian Carmichael is one of my favorite readers for these books. I like very much his interpretation of Bertie.

Hilarious and well performed

As always Jeeves and Bertie continue to entertain BUT the naration was almost intolerable. It was like hearing chalk on a blackboard. I was tempted several times to give up listening but suffered through it because I enjoy the characters so much.

Terrible naration

Sounds like it was originally recorded on a grammophone, converted to tape, and then converted to audible format. There were passages that were literally undecipherable even in format 4. The book itself is quite good, feeling like a true Jeeves novel, with an appropriate laughable ending. But find another recording and save your poor ears.

Awful audio quality, good book

Jeeves and narrator Jonathan Cecil are both sorely missed throughout the perfomance of this short novel. Unlike other of Bertie's bungles, the situation is simple enough that even he appears to have it well in hand. Jeeves gets a mere nod as a plot device in his cameo appearance, leaving one to wonder if his great mind might not have been put to better use sorting out the sudden onset of his young master's inconsistant stutter. Ah, well, perhaps something trully terrifying in his encounters, past and present, with his former school master give rise to this testing attribute. We will never know...no matter how many times we listen this book.

An enjoyable, typical Wodehouse story. However the narrator portrays Bertie Wooster with a slight speech impediment: a hesitation or mild stutter. (You don't hear it in the preview.) This makes the story unlistenable. Unfortunately, the only other version of this book from Aubible has problems too. It is narrated by Frederick Davidson, usually my favorite Wodehouse narrator. However he had voice problems in this book. I don't know which version of this book has the worst narration.

Good book, but horrid narration
