I’m rather used to the crazy cases, because let’s face it, most cops can handle the run-of-the-mill with their eyes closed. I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast.

This case is a little of both.

Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work, hitting them in the back of the head. What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide. With three murders, six victims, and no leads, the Clarksville PD are desperate to catch the assailant. But there’s no real leads for us to follow, either, and for once my eyes can’t really help.

A madman running around attacking women is bad enough, but the police are demanding answers we can’t give them, and they’re not taking no for an answer. It’s pushing us all past our limits, and frankly, I don’t know what’s going to break first: The case or Donovan’s patience.

This title has been on my wish list since I signed up for my account but I put it off since the first book wasn't available through Audible.

Now that I solved that issue, I finally purchased this second installment and they are as fun and enjoyable as I thought the series would be.

I plan on purchasing all of the audio books as they are released as I am sure they will all be equally as delightful.

First off, I'm glad I have read the series with my eyes before doing the audio because the begining of the narration is rough. The accents and inflections changed for each character mid sentence. There were times I had no idea who was speaking. Thankfully it got a lot better or maybe I just got used to it.

This is the second book of the series, I have no idea where the audio for book one is, but in here Donovan and Jon are almost living together and solving their second case. This time the police department who called them in, hates them all.

Also, we get introduced to Garrett, who is Donovan's bestie and Jon finds out that they had sex with each other. Then a very small amount of jealousy happens but since Jon sees all, it blows over.

They eventually find the serial killer, and I actually feel sorry for the poor dude. He was only trying to help.

Anyways, the case is solved and these two dingbats move their relationship along.

This book was a little different than my normal read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story line, the characters and the performance. The sex was hot and steamy but not the entire premise of the book. if you're looking for something fun I would highly recommend this book and I look forward to trying the next in the series.

I love the characters. my only complaint is the switch in narrators. This is a problem with audio book series. The narrator of the first book sets the character personality almost as much as the writer. This story was good enough to get past the personality change caused by the change in narrator so I will continue with the series. In the past I've given up on audio book series where the narrator changes mid series. I hope you keep this in mind with future book series as you are an interesting writer and I have enjoyed many of your books.

The narrator had a great cadence and was easy to listen to while keeping the pace at a nice clip
