Acerca de esta escucha

On June 4, 2004, Marvin Heeymeyer unleashed his gigantic, armored, tank-like bulldozer upon the small town of Granby, Colorado. It was an act of defiant, but misguided, revenge upon those who he perceived had done him wrong in a long series of local property disputes. Over a period of serveral hours, Heemeyer proceeded to cause mayhem and destruction while overwhelming the efforts of local police to stop the Killdozer in its tracks.

This book recounts the events and actions of the perpetrator leading up to the dramatic rampage as well as the aftermath of the horrendous incident in the community.

I'm still on the fence regarding Heemeyer. This book made him sound like a litigious bully, who I feel I could never be friends with. On the other hand, something made him snap. If the author is telling the truth, Heemeyer is no hero and certainly not worthy of being a martyr.

Book was worth buying!

Naturally, the author is going to have a bias against Marvin due to the damage to his business. I wish the book had more quotes from Marvins friends to truly get a two sided look at the incident. I feel the documentary Tread gave a more two sided view. This book is still worth the read. Of course this is my opinion.

One point of view

This is written by a reporter in the town, and feels like it diminishes parts of the true story. It gets worse as the book goes on. It feels wrong to support someone profiting off of another’s misfortune and loss of life.

A little biased
