It is part of a series and does end on a cliffhanger. Fans of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Raven Kennedy will fall in love with this series.

I have never left a review on an audio book, or a book that I’ve read. This series has had a stranglehold on me since I’ve read it. Now I heard the audiobook and it is OUTSTANDING!! PERFECTION!!

Great story, full of emotions, amazing characters, parts which were so dreadful I had to put the book down or even fast forward and then back to feel good emotions and love. Rollercoaster but well worth it.

I had trouble getting into this book at first. I had to keep going back a chapter because my mind would wonder and it felt like nothing substantial happened. But I decided to be patient and it was a rewarding read. I liked it. Might not everyone’s cup of tea tho if you want romance, adventure, and spice to hit you in the face within the first few chapters.

I found the story to lag sometimes as the author couldn’t quite decide if Scarlett was the baddest ass fighter ever or a sickly victim of betrayal. I’m debating on whether the next story will pick up the pace. But there is a good idea here beneath a few too many words from a sick room.

this book has been on my TBR forever. so I was a little scard that it would not live up to my expectations of it. let me tell you Lady of Darkness was beyond better then what I thought it would be. this book was amazing. as I read the book it just continued getting better and better. it truly was just amazing. I am obsessed. I can't wait to continue this story in book two Lady of Shadows! I love it 🖤

I think an editor could have chopped this down significantly and still had a great story. I like the characters although I pictured Scarlett less whiny overall. More of a kick ass take names later type character. There is a lot going on and mysteries to figure out. Love interest to figure out. So on to the next, then the next lol. I love Laura Horowitz as the narrator, but I think a separate male narrator for Soren would have knocked this listen out of the park.

Every part of this book makes you feel as if you’re there, fighting along with the characters struggles and trials.. so many twists and so much depth! Excited to continue on with this story!!.. I keep telling myself “scarlet is damaged” and that keeps me from going mad about how angry she gets with the one man who’s tried helping her escape her binds the most lol

The potential to be a movie series!!
