Acerca de esta escucha

Leading from the Second Chair will raise awareness of the need for strong leaders in secondary positions. It will describe the value they can bring to their organization and to primary leaders when they are serving at their full potential. It will reshape the way they view their role, with an emphasis on their own responsibility as leaders. It recognizes the unique challenges and frustrations of serving in a subordinate position and equips these leaders with the attitudes and skills that they will need to survive and thrive in this new paradigm.

Because of the scarcity of resources for second chair leaders, particularly those in the church, this audiobook will offer a practical way to improve the performance of any organization. Leading Congregational Change discussed the importance of a "vision community" - a diverse group of key members who discern and implement the vision for a congregation - to guide the transformation of a church. This work will extend the theme of an empowered leadership team as we explore how individual clergy and laity can lead effectively.

For someone who calls his role, the 2.5 chair, this book has been a great resource and reminder for any of us in leadership. I truly recommend for any XP’s for anyone in Church Leadership!!

Wonderful Book for any “Chair”!!!

Helpful book what leading looks like when you are second in command. If you are an executive leadership, this book is for you. A little long-winded and could have probably been 20% shorter with the same effect, but a solid book nonetheless

Good but Long Winded

This gave many great ideas about leading even when you're not the primary leader and how to leave well when the time presents itself and God calls you (and your family) elsewhere.

Not the first chair? This is for you!

Usually, there is only one "first chair leader" in any given organization. That means most "leaders" are playing the "second-chair" role. Bone and Hawkins have done the Kingdom a great service by writing such a readable and helpful book. They draw on experiences not only they have gone through but those of other prominent "second-chair" leaders to give the Church a valuable book!

Must read for all ministry leaders!

The advice is directed to the 2nd chair but valuable for all chairs. Good book wirh practical examples.

Enjoyed the book - good for all chairs

it was such a struggle to finish this book. it was suggested as a team building exercise for work. the only team building that happened was everyone discussing how much we all disliked this book and the narration.

Terrible Narration

The book could have been half as long with the surprisingly little amount of scriptural backing behind the claims. Mostly applies to those working in vocational church work.

Great practical wisdom and advice, but too long.
