Legacy of Shadows was everything I needed!! I am absolutely in love with this new universe that Tessa created. Leighton is a super star, she’s an amazing and resilient FMC who has endured much more than someone should have, especially at her age. Her childhood crush Colt comes back into her life after years of radio silence but it’s not without cost. Leighton tries her best to survive the new threats in her life but it’s not easy. The guys are great, even Trace once we learn more about him. They’re all put into what seems like a situation that no one can win. The ending is really heartbreaking and I feel like Colt in particular needs to make up for the damage done. I’m crossing my fingers that there’s more then meets the eye with Leighton!

I thoroughly enjoyed this listening experience. I had read the book, so i already knew the story was good. The narrator brought it to life. I felt like i was there in the moment with the characters. I had to charge my earbuds twice because i could not stop listening to it.

Audiobook veteran, Vanessa Moyen, does an excellent job bringing life to the first book in Tessa Hale’s newest series, Supernaturals of Castle Academy. She is one of my favorite narrators for a good reason, able to bring different voices to a variety of characters. If you are going to go with a single narrator, she is the one to pick.

Legacy of Shadows was an exciting introduction to this new series! It is full of secrets, political intrigue, magic, shifters (of many varieties), fated mates, and overprotective males with ‘who hurt you’ vibes. It feels a bit darker than her last series, Royals of Kingwood Academy, but that is what made it so compelling and hard to put down.

There’s Leighton, who’s been pulled out of Louisiana and thrust into a world she knows nothing about, into the lives of Colt, Ronan, Dash, Trace, and Declan. She must deal with the antics of mean girls who want to piss all over the guys they think are theirs and learn to navigate a system she barely understands. It doesn’t help that the boys keep secrets and send her mixed signals, so she never really knows where she stands. The angst ratchets higher as painful truths get revealed.

The heat is smoldering and builds throughout, but this is a slow-burn romance with a ⓥⓘⓡⓖⓘⓝ FMC. I expect later books will rachet up the steam substantially as their relationships grow.

This baby ends in a whopper of a cliffhanger that I am still not quite over. Book two cannot get here soon enough because I am so thoroughly invested in this story, that the wait might ⓚⓘⓛⓛ me.

This is the first book in the brand new series, Supernaturals Of Castle Academy. This may have just taken over the spot of favorite book from this author. I absolutely loved it! It is one of those stories that is so intriguing, and addictive that you never want it to end. From the writing, storyline and storytelling, to the dynamic characters, character and relationship development, and world building, it is all incredible!

I also listened to the audiobook companion to this title, and let me say, it is fantastic! The Narrators do an excellent job bringing this amazing story to life!

Leighton is anxious to turn eighteen and escape her torturous home life when her childhood friend and his friends show up to take her away and keep her safe. But, can they keep her safe when the secrets they hold may put in more danger than ever? Can she survive in their world or will she run for the hills the first chance she gets?

If you are looking for a great paranormal, fated mates read, or listen, I would highly recommend this book and audiobook. I personally cannot wait for book two!

This was my first Tessa Hale book and it won’t be my last. I was hooked from the beginning all the way until the cliffhanger ending. I listened to this in one day because I could not put it down

Leighton has not lived a charmed life. After her father’s death she was as the mercy of her cruel mother and she was counting down the days until she turned 18 and could move out on her own. When one day her childhood friend Colt showed up and promised to take her away and keep her safe. But despite his promise she is thrust into a dangerous new world where she has to survive demons and mean girls all while fighting her attraction to Colt and his 4 friends. But Lost Boys were keeping secrets from her that would break her heart and put her life in danger.

I loved Leighton. She was so strong and had survived so much. My heart broke for her and the abuse she suffered since her father’s death. She handled the changes to her life so well and I didn’t blame her for fears and insecurities.

I really liked the all of the guys, I often struggle with remembering all of them clearly, especially when there are more than 3. But I think Tessa did a good job of making them all unique and I pretty much like all of them equally. Although Colt is on my 💩 list after that cliffhanger.

I really wish this book wasn’t just from Leighton’s POV. I really wanted to be inside the guys’ heads and was so glad there was a bonus chapter Colt’s POV.

I listened to the audiobook and thought Vanessa’s Moyen did a really great job. She had to do so many male voices.

New Adult Paranormal/ Fantasy Romance
Reverse Harem 🎧📖

This was my first Tessa Hale read and Legacy of Shadows was everything I was looking for when I picked this up: a fun, sexy, intriguing, & darker, paranormal/fantasy romance.

I listened to Legacy of Shadows via audible and this was such an entertaining introduction to a new fantasy world. The narrator, Vanessa Moyen, was wonderful. Following along as Leighton struggles to fit into her new world, and become familiar with the handsome and mysterious men that are apart of that world, was absolutely addicting.

The chemistry was palpable in each uniquely formed relationship in this reverse harem. This story had just the right amount of a character development and world building that you would want in a new series. I may have screamed a bit at the end (cliffhanger) but thankfully the series is set to be completed in 2023. Anchor of Secrets, the second installment, has a release date of June 2023.

Now I’m off to explore more by Tessa Hale. Definitely recommend!

I read this book 1st and then had to come buy the audio. Tessa Hale weites an incredible world, and Vanessa Moyen does really well at bringing it to life. I can't wait to start on the second book now! 5 out of 5 would recommend!

This storyline is pretty interesting. I was getting a little bothered about the FMC insecurities and self deprecating inner monologue. However, to her nemesis she’s a sassy confident female. I’m hoping I’m book 2 she finds her inner strength.
