Obviously, I read it when it came out and am now doing a second read.. well, listen, and it is just as good. If not better, the second time around.

Oh my gosh! All the feels for this book. I have been a part of Brynne Asher's Beauty Group on Facebook for a while, and as she was coming on the end of writing this book or as she finished. I remember her saying, "This is the book you didn't know you needed." she was spot. Freaking. On! This book was so good. So well written, Brynne is so talented, this book gives you the fun one liners, the side characters that you adore and hope ,as in crossing your fingers and cross your toes hoping, they get a story, It has the suspense, the slow burn love story that makes you melt on the spot.
Levi and Carissa are so sweet together. Levi is just like his dad! All the mushy gooey feels 🫠.
Carissa, ugh, this girl! She is a freaking bad ass as all of her female characters are!

Go read this book! So good .


Narrators:
Jeremy York is a brand new to me narrator, and he did not disappoint!! Well done! New favorite for me.
CJ Bloom is a freaking gem!!! I love her. This audio was amazing!

The narration on this is absolutely amazing. You sink into the story and get a good feeling for the characters right away. This will be a favorite re-read/listen.

The characters are in high school but the story is written from a mature perspective. Old souls these characters are. There is suspense and sweet moments. This is performed in dual narration.

This was cute. A good next gen book, but a lot different than the original series. These main characters are in high school. The story overlaps Asa’s story from The Killers first gen. Brynne Asher is awesome.

This isn’t your cut and dry romance. There is some mystery and intrigue mixed in with it.

I didn’t realize Brynne had written Levi and Emma’s stories after reading the Killers series(which I highly recommend reading prior!)
While I enjoyed this book it wasn’t my favorite, I think Asa (Levi’s father’s) story was better. But to each is their own. I’d still 4-star it.

2/5🌶️ (the hs aspect made this one feel weird, especially since you’re coming off reading about adults in The Killers)
