This was an enjoyable coming of age horror. I really like that it incorporated eco horror along with family horror. This is a multifaceted story with great detail and world building. Worth the listen!

This is a fun read just going into summer. I like the history and eco-horror view; this gives a bit of a Stranger Things feel. What's not fun is the length of the story. While predictable and satisfying, it's a lot of sludge that could have been more fun if we weren't dragged through Hooperstown for quite so long. The narrator does well as several different characters but the whiny sound for a few of them can be pretty off-putting. I enjoyed this as a first Tim Meyer book and wouldn't mind reading another.

Great concept, felt a bit long winded. I loved the incorporation of the Eco horror, but would’ve liked if it leaned into the lore of the “Mother” more.
