Acerca de esta escucha

New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Chiaverini’s Elm Creek Quilts novels are hailed as “classics of their kind” by The Dallas Morning News.

Master quilter Sylvia Compson, the sage voice guiding the Elm Creek Quilters, is getting married. The occasion should be festive, but things turn sour. The quilters have prospered, but now their unity is threatened. They must either iron out their differences or face a future that may not be spent together.

I love this series. As a new quilter it's fun learning the names of quilt blocks and it inspires me to look up the blocks they Elm Creek quilters talk about. This was one of my favorite books in this series.

Super fab!

I want to find an Elm Creek lodge retreat, with classes taught by the beautiful women in these stories. I've read (listened) to all 18 books, the only criticism I have is the repetitive parts in each book and there is not a.clear end to the series. Other than that, they are a light, interesting read, especially if you're a quilter.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to someone who enjoys the series or who likes stories with solid characters and life lessons.

Any additional comments?

The only down side is that I wasn't always able to follow the characters from the voices. In earlier books, they were easier to discern with. There are too many characters now that sound the same.

Another good Elm Creek Quilt story

This book wasn't my favorite, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening. I will continue to be an Elm Creek fan and work my way through the series.

I love the consistency from book to book and having the same narrator. Makes me feel close to the characters, like meeting up with friends. Like the twists and turns in this book, definitely expanding on the story lines as we move through each book.

Another great book in the series

so many repeats of the same situation I was really tired and wanted the culprits to be caught.

Good but a little drawn out.

I did enjoy the rendition of each individual person going through the situation with a different point of view

Different, I enjoyed

I enjoyed each character's point of view. It took me a bit to catch onto what was happening and I can understand some of the reviews, but I liked its variety in format compared to the other books.

Very well

Several reviews have berated this book as being hard to read because it tells the same story over and over. The use of multiple narrators talking about the same time period but from different perspectives is a writing Challeng I am pleased Ms. Chevarini has taken on. The only other book I have read in this style is Absalom, Absalom! written by William Faulkner. This book is best read after you have become acquainted with each of the individual characters in this series. Don’t read it first! First read The Quilters Apprentice and Round Robin. Reading The Cross Country Quilters will give you a little more depth to understand some of the insignificant passages, but is not essential. I am on my 4th reading of this series and each book adds more layers to the basic layout. The series is very much like a quilt. Each book taken individually is lovely, complete in of itself. But when you out them all together and the peripheral characters start to take center stage you are left with a fabulous story of German Immigrants who come to America to claim its promise of prosperity for anyone who is willing to work hard enough for it. The 18 book story line has so much depth and detail when viewed together. Just like a complex quilt whose true magnificence can only be seen once all the individual blocks are in their places adding to the beauty of the whole.

Wonderfully written in a complex style that adds depth and beauty to the series.
