Volume One starts with an exploration of Guru Nanak’s "House", the empowering legacy of the Sikhs with its roots in the south Asian subcontinent, and continues with stories and lessons learned from the childhood and youth of the man we have come to call “Siri Singh Sahib”. Escaping the partition of British India in 1947, young Harbhajan becomes involved in the Sikh student movement. Married and graduated with a master’s degree in economics, Harbhajan Singh still finds time to meet reclusive yogis and swamis in their caves and ashrams during a colorful career as customs agent for the Indian government. In Amritsar and New Delhi and in the Himalayas, the Sikh Yogi takes part in many inspired and marvelous adventures – until his calling to come to North America in 1968.

Volume Two: In Canada, then in Los Angeles, as Yogi Bhajan, he meets Western culture and the hippie movement on its home ground. Shunning celebrities and millionaires, the Master finds his tribe among the long-haired rebels of America. Adventures and misadventures and lessons learned culminate in a grand pilgrimage to the holy city of Amritsar in the winter of 1970 - then many more adventures as the spiritual nation of the "Aquarian Age" with Guru Nanak as its Guru grows, prospers and extends outside of the United States.
