Says it in the title, it’s truly a practical guide. Great book for quick references to a vast array of topics on creating a changed mindset. It’s one of those books after completing a read-through you keep nearby and flip to a topic you are working on in your life. Have a few highlights that I’ll meditate on as I continue to improve myself. One good reminder the book gave me was to focus on the joy of what I’m doing. I have been learning Spanish for the last few years and feel years and felt stuck just going through the motion of learning,

“If you’re learning a new language, focusing on the joy of communicating with others in that language can be more motivating than the goal of adding a skill to your resume”

This quote from the book gave me a good nudge to reevaluate my language goals and remember that I started to learn Spanish to communicate with my close family and friends. There is a joy in that goal that I need to refocus on.

This gem of a book has been life-changing for me. I would recommend reading or listening with a notebook and pen. While I expected to experience valuable practicals for my professional development, I was pleasantly surprised how the applications transformed me on a personal level. I applied some of Kang's suggested for improving sleep hygiene, which helped me to unpack a few areas from my childhood where I was stuck. Topics like positive framing and resilient mindsets are just a few that stood out. I will be referring to this book for a long time to come and will be purchasing copies for my leadership team.
