Acerca de esta escucha

Family is everything to Siobhán: her five siblings; her dear departed mother for whom the family business, Naomi’s Bistro, is named; and now her fiancé, Macdara Flannery. So precious is her engagement that Siobhán wants to keep it just between the two of them for a little longer.

But Macdara is her family, which is why when his cousin Jane frantically calls for his help, Siobhán is at his side as the two garda rush from Kilbane to the rural village where Jane and her mother have recently moved. Unfortunately, tragedy awaits them. They find Jane, who is blind, outside the cottage, in a state. Inside, Aunt Ellen lies on her bed in a fancy red dress, no longer breathing. A pillow on the floor and a nearby teacup suggest the mode of death to their trained eyes: the woman has been poisoned and smothered. Someone wanted to make sure she was dead. But who?

Devout believers in Irish folklore, the villagers insist the cottage is cursed - built on a fairy path. It turns out Ellen Delaney was not the first to die mysteriously in this cottage. Although the townsfolk blame malevolent fairies, Siobhán and Macdara must follow the path of a murderer all too human - but just as evil....

Loved it! Probably the best in series! It flowed naturally and I didn’t sense that ‘searching aspect’ often read/listened in a book series.

I still got a ‘jab’ with the American Disney Land but stood above it...

By far her best book in the series.

Yet? There was still that rush in the ending with every typical ‘death solving murder novels’. Wish it didn’t always have an unrealistic happy ending every time.

That’s just not Ireland

No Metal Detector Needed! Golden!

My vision is quite limited, so Audiobooks are a great resource for me. The combination of Carlene O’Conner’s writing and Caroline Lennon’s narration is delightful. This story is told in the true tradition of an Irish tale. It has many twists, good humor, and a cozy mystery that weaves itself round and round like a fairy circle, holding your fascination. If you have only read this latest release in ‘An Irish Village Mystery’ series, consider listening to the audio version. Definitely one of my favorites!

Highly recommend Audio version...

Fairies, true or make believe? I didn’t guess the murderer. Shi von (spelling?) solves the riddle , solves the crime. Great characters, perfect narrator. I’m on to the next book. I love this series.

A Simple Most Complicated Village

I am utterly addicted to this mystery series, the Irish countryside, and the characters that populate the villages within. The main characters are likable, capable, and fully written. The plot is plausible and well executed. I highly recommend the series. Each book is stand alone, but they are best read in order.

Amazing

I like how the listener can guess 'who dun it' all along but never be sure until the end.
