“Finally, the definitive book about Escobar, original and up-to-date” (UNILAD)
Pablo Escobar was a mama’s boy who cherished his family and sang in the shower, yet he bombed a passenger plane and formed a death squad that used genital electrocution.
Most Escobar biographies only provide a few pieces of the puzzle, but this action-packed 1000-page book reveals everything about the king of cocaine.
Mostly translated from Spanish, part three contains stories untold in the English-speaking world, including:
- The terrifying details of how Pablo slaughtered some of his friends.
- The Cali Cartel’s attempt to drop a bomb on Pablo’s prison.
- His final dark desperate days with his family.
- Who really hunted him and how he died.

As far as the series is concerned, this is the most comprehensive Paublo Escobar reporting to ever exist. It's part of a 3 volume series, and it goes WELL beyond the standard narco tales to paint an exhaustive picture of both a complex person and time. It does this by not simply relying on Western "authorities" on the matter, but rather by looking at reports from the people that were there, that knew Escobar, and from other sources available as well.
I say that having previously read dozens of books on the subject, this author's prior book included. The major flaw in most of those is that they aren't thorough enough, that they have agenda, or that they want to be pro or anti the person. This series tries more to paint a picture of who Escobar was, what he did and it's impact both pro and con, as well as the brutal responses from both Cali and the Columbian/ US governments. There's a lot of items that haven't appeared elsewhere too, detailing kidnappings, bombings, and more.
Theres one complaint you'll see in the reviews, noting that the book includes advertisement for other books. Essentially, you have around 38min in each book dedicated to that, it's at the end of the book, and it's easily skipped. I wouldn't even note this but I almost didn't buy a book because it was all I saw, and I don't really see the issue.
Attwood's Finale to the BEST Pablo Escobar series.
