Acerca de esta escucha

Based on historic events and frighteningly relevant to today’s headlines - a taut thriller about one American diplomat’s year of living dangerously in Tehran in the days leading up to the Iranian Revolution....

In the style of Alan Furst, this suspenseful thriller - based on real events - places an idealistic American diplomat in a turbulent, US-hating Tehran in the days leading up to the Iranian Revolution. Backed by the CIA, and trailed by a beautiful and engaging French journalist he suspects is a spy, David Weiseman’s mission is to ease the Shah of Iran out of power and find the best alternative between the military, religious extremists, and the political ruling class - many of whom are simultaneously trying to kill him.

I've listened to many books with audible and this one is the best ever

Fantastic book

for the good I would say it makes you feel like you're in Iran and the narrator, (who also did blitzed I think) was well suited for the role. and the plot it self was interesting.

the bad? they would change location out of nowhere and so fast and sudden it will leave you wondering "where we are again?', it's too long in some places and to short in others and it gives characters this big introduction then you never see them again for half the book, then it reintroduces them exciting you to remember everything about them.

overall enjoyable but with many issues

This behind the scenes story of what happened in Iran leading up to 1980, is narrated through a first person account with fax mixed in with storyline.
the rider brings the reader along in a great saga, well mixing in dates and names that let you know what parts are true and what parts are story.

The untold story of what happened
