What a great and amazing paranormal fantasy. It has the makings of a great television show or even big screen, I can just imagine what special effects could do for some of the descriptive scenes in this book, especially the nightmarish ones. Erica Stevens is a new to me author and I will definitely be checking out more of her work. I enjoyed her writing and the original storylines she created, they are interesting and imaginative. As is the world and characters she creates, imaginative yet realistic and relatable. Avery, the lead character finds out her parents kept a big secret from her her whole life. They decided it was time for her to find out, she is sent to stay with her estranged mother to learn more. She finds others her age and then learns they are all witches and belong to a Coven. At first she is shocked and unbelieving, then came denial, but when she could not longer deny the power within she goes back and joins them. Things really pick up, it all starts with a seance and Avery finds herself in another realm faced with evil and challenges that are beyond her comprehension. This is the time you will be taken to the edge of your seat, rooting for Avery, Reid and the rest of the coven. Lots of suspense, horror filled action, drama, twists and even a bit of romance. I loved the chemistry between Avery and Reid. I also loved the history of who everyone is and its links with the past. I am looking forward what comes next for this great crew of witches. Erica Stevens thank you for this great story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Meghan Kelly is an awesome narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She sets the perfect tone for the story and adds a dramatic flair that enhances this great story another level. You hear the emotions of the characters projected in to her performance, she has you feeling their fear and then their determination. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Suspense twists magic drama!
Love Avery, Meghan Kelly did an amazing job with all the characters but she really brought Avery and Reid to life. Unique story great characters and world building and an excellent narrator. Can’t wait for the next book,

I loved this story by Erica Stevens! I found this story refreshing from the normal witch novels that I have read. The nightmare realm concept was truly terrifying to think about. Avery is very lucky to have Reid by her side, his compassion and understanding really helps Avery grow. Landon and Rosy are my favorite characters and I look forward to future stories with them in it. Meghan Kelly is definitely top in her field of narration. She makes the characters come to life with her melodic voice.

This is epic as in fantastic YA fantasy with a fun twisted plot. Great character building with realistically relatable issues sprinkled with humor and drama. The narrative is why it's labeled Double as she does just as fantastic a job as the author. If you want magic and adventure without fear of bedroom scenes this is a wonderful choice

Jam packed full of enthusiastic teenage witches as they are thrown head first into some heavy duty unexpected games of the possible deadly kind when one of their own gets into an altercation with a not so alive being. This is a good sized book that was well written and perfectly narrated. Can't wait for book 2.

This is a great story of a girl who finds out that her life isn't as it seems. She's a witch, and she's being hunted by someone who wants her for her powers.

I fell in love with this story from the beginning, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves witches, and the paranormal

Nightmares is a good start of series. I connected with the characters and cared what they were going through. I like how magic is weaved throughout but dies not overtake the story. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the story to life.

Good Series Starter

Avery a 17 yr old is forced to spend the summer with a mother she doesn't know and holds a grudge at being forced visit. She meets new friends and soon learns that her parents have kept her so sheltered from her real life, she resents the truths they've kept from her. So instead of feeling "just" insecure at 17, she is also angry and feels more like a freak then she should.

Reid (Avery is attracted to) one of her new friends helps guide and support Avery with her new found abilities in magic. When Regan kidnaps Avery and her friends come looking for her. The only way for them all to leave is to survive their own nightmares. It soon becomes apparent that each persons nightmare is more like an "escape room" but their lives are potentially in danger. Ironically we can all relate to some of the nightmares we might have thought about as kids in this novel.

Regan wants Avery so badly, but he has ulterior motives, and the group must figure out what and why this is.

This YA book by Erica Stevens was a lot of fun to listen to. Regardless if you believe in the power of magick or not, the story is relatable. Meghan Kelly was fantastic lending her voice to soooo many different characters that you were never uncertain which character was speaking. From petulant teenager to insolent cousin, Meghan provides attitude and strength to all her characters.
