Becky Keife
No Better Mom for the Job is for any mom who has ever felt inadequate - who loves her kids fiercely but sometimes thinks another mom would do a better job in her shoes. Becky Keife knows the ups and downs of motherhood. And she has learned along the way and from other mamas that it doesn't work to try to do more or be better. Confidence comes from leaning on the One who made you a mother.
In this audiobook, you will discover how to exchange negative internal dialogue for joyful gratitude; identify and celebrate your one-of-a-kind mom strengths; establish boundaries that set you and your child up for success; recognize evidence of God's work in your life and growth in your kids; and much more.
Filled with encouraging stories and practical, biblical wisdom, each chapter also includes one simple action step and a powerful prayer, all to help you see yourself as exactly the mom your child needs.

I'm a new boy Mom with a two year old and a heavy baby-belly containing an already rambunctious little brother on the way.
I found this book out of desperation.
I have a good son. But he's two, and he has been practicing being the most authentic two year old there is for about a year now-- full of energy and wildly passionate about play and tantrums.
I love him beyond measure, and get exhausted beyond measure mentally, emotionally, and physically *almost* every day.
With that being said, this book was a delightful respite for me. I listened to it on audio during short thirty minute walks with my son, or while doing the dinner dishes. Each chapter was about that long -- 30 minutes or so-- so the sections were perfect for my mommy-sized quiet-ish lapses.
In listening to Becky, I was simultaneously confronted and encouraged, challenged and moved. Overall I found the book to be pretty sappy, fairly sentimental, and very cutesy -- BUT, I still teared up often and related frequently to her anecdotes of mothering little boys. She is a skilled creative writer, and paints her personal memories beautifully -- even if they do make the reader feel like she needs to say, "Awe...bless your little heart" in a southern accent.
I wouldn't say that Becky's theology was "solid" or "concrete." It felt loose and broad, but her application of biblical passages didn't seem to contain many errors -- only red flags and "eh--I'm not sure I'd say/apply it like that..." segments. If taken as a whole, the book should challenge any Bible adhering Christian with a conscience to listen and obey.
I was very graciously confronted by it, and took to trying her recommended "easy steps" to apply her challenges to my life-- which resulted in spiritual enrichment and growth.
I will be recommending this book to my Mama friends
