Marsh Vincent, Mick McCarty, and Tommy Lewis were inseparable friends during their naval academy years, each man in love with the beautiful, unattainable Glory Hawthorne. I love historically fiction as a general rule. This story has ousting characters that I could clearly see as I listened to this book.

Dick Hill is at his very best in bringing Deutermann's Pacific Glory to life. You will feel a personal relationship with each character including pain, laughter, tears, anger, revenge, love and hope. Be ready to be pulled into the pages.

the way he wove the Battle of Leyte Gulf into the plot…once I realized what he was doing, I couldn’t stop listening until the very end

You felt like you were there. Mr. Doodeman had 26 years in Navy and his experience lent such realism to the story. I have read a lot of his books every one of which was good. This is one of the best. I recommended highly. Even if you read the last stand of the tin can sailors You won’t be disappointed.

I have read most of Mr. Determan’s books. This was one of the best.

I really enjoyed this reading. Dick Hill does a good job, the story is well done. I have listened to several Deutermann books, this is his best, imo.

The level of detail and description pulled me back onboard my destroyer (late 1970’s). The narration and presentation kept my interest and I couldn’t wait for the next chapter.
