Raised by a Narcissist: That Woman aka My Mother
This is my raw and deeply personal memoir—a journey through the emotional scars of growing up under the shadow of narcissistic abuse.
In this gripping account, I lay bare my painful experiences with a mother who withheld love, manipulated, and controlled me—leaving wounds that shaped my very identity.
Through vivid and heart-wrenching storytelling, I take you into the depths of my childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
A home where affection was absent,
Achievements were dismissed,
Gaslighting and grudges ruled daily life.
As I navigated the complexities of rebellion, survival, and family, I found rare solace in the small glimmers of love I received from others. Yet, my ultimate battle lay in breaking free from the cycle of trauma and reclaiming my sense of self.
This memoir is not just a story of pain—it is a testament to resilience.
Raised by a Narcissist: That Woman aka My Mother is for anyone who has endured toxic family dynamics and is seeking validation, healing, and empowerment. My journey proves that breaking the chains of abuse is possible—and that we are more than the wounds inflicted upon us.
If you have ever questioned your worth, doubted your memories, or struggled with the echoes of a narcissistic parent, I hope this book speaks to you.
With raw honesty, vulnerability, and an unwavering voice, I share my truth in the hope that it will resonate with you long after the final tick.
Healing begins when the truth is told. Are you ready to reclaim your story?
Trigger Warning: This book discusses themes of narcissistic abuse, emotional manipulation, and childhood trauma.

While this is a short listen, it packs a powerful punch. You can feel the raw emotions that are still very much present as the author navigates her past and particularly her relationship with her mother. It hurts my heart that so much of her upbringing is tinged with pain and the fact that she can’t even call her mother ‘mom’ but instead refers to her as ‘that woman’.
Listening to this book has really made me self-reflect on my own relationship with my parents and how multi-faceted these relationships are. You don’t realize just how much of yourself is defined by your formative years and shaped by those that raised you, and I hope and pray that this journey that the author is clearly on will lead to healing. “Even in the darkest moments, there is strength to be found,” and there is power in facing the past and breaking free from the ties that bind.
