THE STORY

On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges.

These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra. As two packs of ancient, merciless predators stalk the shadows of the prison colony, both seeking a single young inmate with unnatural talents, the corridors run red, and both factions will have to fight tooth and claw to leave Zartak alive.

Was a great 40k story. Wonderfully vivid descriptions and very interesting characters. Definitely one of the better Space Marine stories.

compelling story about a really cool chapter of space marines. the dynamic between the quiet but brutal carcharodons against the more savage and taunting night lords made for a great contrast.

Good but had parts that how do you say needed to get to the fireworks factory. But cool to find out what happens to the night lords after their series

Loved how formidable both loyalists and traitors were written. Gives fans of Carcharodons and Night Lords fans something to be proud of

Overall the story is great, you just can’t unfocus for any amount of time because you switch perspectives so frequently that you will get confused so quickly.

Great book, hard to keep track

If you can get past the first bit where the Nightlords do what they do best and where the Space sharks actually show up it gets quite good, a bit of cat and mouse between the chapter and the warband.

Great story, great characters, great VA work. Sometimes hard to tell when the story jumped from location to location, though I'm guessing in the physical book there would be a page break or something to make it more obvious. Fun listen, look forward to more shark infested stories

Fantastic book to start the Carcharadons deep dive. Loved that the book included the elusive 8th Legion even if it was a small warband

I had an impossible time putting this one down. I loved learning about a new chapter that I hadn’t been aware of, and I’m only wanting to know more about them.
