Acerca de esta escucha

Sharpe is back.

The global best seller Bernard Cornwell returns with his iconic hero, Richard Sharpe.

If any man can do the impossible, it's Richard Sharpe....

Lieutenant-Colonel Sharpe is a man with a reputation. Born in the gutter, raised a foundling, he joined the army 21 years ago, and it’s been his home ever since. He’s a loose cannon, but his unconventional methods make him a valuable weapon.

So when, the dust still settling after the Battle of Waterloo, the duke of Wellington needs a favour, he turns to Sharpe. For Wellington knows that the end of one war is only the beginning of another. Napoleon's army may be defeated, but another enemy lies waiting in the shadows—a secretive group of fanatical revolutionaries hell-bent on revenge.

Sharpe is dispatched to a new battleground: the maze of Paris streets where lines blur between friend and foe. And in search of a spy, he will have to defeat a lethal assassin determined to kill his target or die trying....

If you like the Richard Sharpe series you will like this. It's a bit different than others, nd appears that it might be the last of the series. Still, it will not disappoint Sharpe fans.

Classic Sharpe

Great story by Cornwell, fits right at home with the rest of the series. I prefer the other voice actor to Farley; however, he did a great job all the same.

Fitting Addition to Sharpe's adventures

Thank you Bernard Cornwall for such a great series and character. Favorite author of all time.

I’m going to miss Sharpe so much

Great fun. This recording may feature the best narrator of the series. A fitting end to the series (although one can always hope for just one more).

Excellent, Excellent

Loved reading another Sharpe novel. It fell in place like I’d read the last one days ago.

The storytelling was first rate as was the narration. Sharpe and Harper’ skill, luck, and rage got them through amazing scrapes, as always; and it was delightful to read.

One can only hope Bernard Cornwell will be able to conjure additional Sharpe stories to delight us in the future.

Like the joy of talking to an old friend

We're at the end of the war but Sharpe still has work to do. great story, told well. Great reading.

An excellent Sharpe novel. As good as always.

Welcome back, Sharpe! Intricate, fascinating and gripping story line right up there with Mr Cornwell's best in the Sharpe series, but most unfortunately detracted from by an ill suited narrator. Uneven voice modulation (one minute shouting loudly, another whispering inaudibly - especially the women), slurred articulation (at times it was hard to make out what he was saying), and, most important, wrong and annoying accent for Sharpe - Sharpe sounds dopey. Frederick Davidson got Sharpe's accent just right, not high born but still crisp and strong, reflecting Sharpe's increasing sophistication as a rising officer over the years. Mr Cornwell, please bring Sharpe back again with more brilliant stories but with a better and more suitable narrator.

Great story, poor narration

It was good to read Sharpe again. Excellent job of having me feel that I was blazing a trail with Sharpe and ending by a cool stream with a splash. I know I’ll be reading another adventure soon. Thank you Bernard Cornwell!

Brilliant!

I have truly enjoyed every word from the first book to this last one! A series of stories, and adventure through history, that leaves anyone that consumes them in awe and wonder of the exploits of such a great character. In my opinion this collection is a true masterpiece of literature. Thank you Bernard Cornwell!

At first I wasn't thrilled at who was narrating this, but soon was caught up in the story and didn't mind at all. The story is good and I liked it. Fans of the series will enjoy it.

I enjoyed it
