This book is the whole package! It's a massive undertaking to cover identity, internalized racism, mental colonization, homophobia, love, loss, isolation, community, self-hatred, self-love, fear of parental patterns, and individuation in less than 200 pages, but Vivek nailed it. I thoroughly enjoyed this authentic portrayal of self-reflection of a queer adolescent journey that was beautifully intertwined with Hindu mythology.

Because I was immediately engulfed in the authors storytelling abilities, I wanted to ensure I was experiencing it as the author intended. That led me to purchase the physical and audiobook so I could hear Vivek's auditory inflections as well as experience the art that supports the narrative. I highly recommend experiencing it this way in one sitting from start to finish.
