Sherlock Holmes looks on idle and infuriated from the sidelines while evil has Whitechapel in the grip of fear, evil which bears the infamous name of Jack the Ripper, a name set to raise the hackles on people's necks for generations to come. Sherlock Holmes and the Menacing Monk is an excellent book. I loved this story and especially the rhyming verses. I was awed by the ability to tell the story in this poetic form. The narration by Steve White is outstanding. I was so impressed how he so effortlessly narrated the story in rhyme.

I’m not one to leave negative reviews and always try to find positive elements of a book but the constant rhyming caused me to shut off prematurely. If you appreciate poetry you may enjoy this however not continuously. Fortunately this was a free book from MX . I would not use my credit to purchase it otherwise 🤨

A bit grating ..

I don't know whether this tale is good or bad, but the writing sure stinks. I love poetry, but this even stinks as poetry. And if that weren't enough, the whole first chapter is a discourse on Holmes literature and the Holmes and Watson characters. I don't need a lecture to read a book, and I would prefer to be warned that the "story" is actually a poet's attempt at relating a tale.
