Acerca de esta escucha

In the mysterious world of Harmony, there are places filled with unexplored marvels. But Rainshadow Island isn't about to give up its secrets....

In the alien catacombs of Rainshadow, there are creatures whose compelling songs lure the unwary to their death. That's why Rafe Coppersmith, hired to clear out the catacombs for exploration, needs a music talent. He knows the perfect one, but she probably doesn't want anything do with him....

Ella Morgan had once fallen hard and fast for Rafe, but then he disappeared for months...and he's not about to tell her why. Ella, too, has secrets that only her dust bunny knows. She's not just a music talent, she's a Siren: a paranormal singer capable of singing men to sleep - or to their deaths.

But once on Rainshadow, Rafe and Ella will learn that surrendering to passion doesn't come without risks - and fighting fire with fire only adds to the flame....

I know a few people don't like Barbara Rosenblat, but I think she brings a nice maturity sound to the Hero's with a deep voice. Sometimes when a female narrater tries to sound different for the hero with a deep voice they just can't pull it off. But Barbara does a wonderful job because she already has a deep voice. It might be distracting because she sounds like and old gal who has smoked most of her live, but it doesn't bother me. It gives the stories some spice to me. And I prefer my males voices to sound male.

Good Story and Narrater

As much as I loved each character in each story, I fell in love with the dust bunnies. Sometimes I found myself laughing out loud!well done!

I totally enjoyed this series

I enjoyed this book very much. Both the story and the narration were excellent. I would advise anyone who likes romantic science fiction to get it.

One of Jane Castles best!

I love alternate reality/made up worlds. This is a fun world with good and evil going at it and always with a “surprise, gotcha!” moment.

Incredibly enjoyable

Castle has found another story to engage my interest. She weaves a tale that keeps me enthralled. Good plot, fun interplay between great characters, with another great dust bunny.

This is another hit for Jayne Castle

I love all of the Harmony stories, and even though I don't care for the voice of the narrator overall (she sounds like a 70 year old, 4 pack a day smoker) I believe she is an excellent voice actor. My dislike is just a personal preference, not a critique of her excellent skills. The thing that had me cringing was the repeated "sing for me, siren" nonsense that kept being said during the interludes between the main characters. Do Harmony residents not know what singing actually is? Does everyone there believe singing is manipulating wavelengths of energy with no actual sound being produced? It's weird. Ella doesn't actually ever sing, yet Rafe reacts as if she is performing a moving aria. Her whole family ACTUALLY performs musically, but what does she do? Stand there? Why doesn't she ACTUALLY sing and use her talent through her voice? Who knows. It just doesn't resonate with me. Usually I have no trouble using my imagination with artistic license, but this was just too ridiculous for me. I still enjoyed the book, but these things were just a no for me.

Enjoyable story with some overly cheesy dialogue sprinkled throughout.

Thus is one of the better Rainshadow books, and Barbara is my favorite reader. That's a terrific combination.

Enjoyed it

I love the dust bunny books I knocked Jayne down for her sex scenes. I like her books Despite them not because trash is included. Barbara as always is a most excellent narrator
