I was NOT Ready For how amazing this audio production would be. First off, the narrators were PERFECTION. I loved all the music and sound effects. Next level!! One thing I'll say was, this is not a spicy book. But it is steamy slow burn!!! The dynamic between the 2 MC's was fire. Fated mates is not a personal favorite of mine, BUT I really liked how this author did it. It didn't feel too insta-love. Which for me is a plus! I can't wait to see how their relationship grows. This book was adventurous, and engaging. So good. I can not wait for book 2!!

First off I loved the story. Secondly I loved the way this was narrated. I loved the dual narrators and that whether it was Aramis or Sybil’s POV Anthony did all the male voices and Jacci did all the female. Both did an excellent job and made the story really come alive. I also really liked the occasional background music and sound effects. It really enhanced the story and added to the tension.

Story:
Sky of Thorns is the start of the Vandeleur Trilogy. This is character-driven book following Sibyl and Aramis. While the focus on the main characters' development was strong, the world-building felt a bit lacking for me, which made the pacing too slow at times.

Performance:
This was a well produced audiobook. It was very entertaining. The narrators did an amazing job depicting each character, main or not. If I hadn't known there were only two narrators, I would have thought there were at least three. I also appreciated that Jacci and Anthony narrated their characters in all chapters, regardless of whose POV it was. Personally, I sometimes cringe when a male narrator changes his voice to portray a female character, same goes with a female narrator.

The sound effects at few areas were a nice addition. It made the audiobook more engaging and entertaining to listen to.

Overall, it was an okay start to a trilogy and I would still be reading the second book.

Loved Sybil! Definitely the perfect character for a unicorn shifter IMO. Loved the sided characters. MMC hasn’t sold me yet. Writing craft was lovely to read but the story content was a bit flat. However book2 may pickup more so will be excited to see where that goes! Audio was amazing and so well done.

This was a really fun listen! The production and the duet narration style is amazing. I wanted to read this because I heard it had a unicorn shifter, and I guess I was just hoping for a little more equine content than what was actually in it. Certain parts felt a little rushed, but overall I really enjoyed it!

I listened to Sky of Thorns on audio and absolutely loved it! 🎧

Sybil is thrust out of her comfort zone and torn from the only home she’s ever known, setting her on a journey full of danger, discovery, and unexpected adventure. Oh—and she’s a unicorn shifter. So freaking cool! 🦄🔥

Aramis is a compelling example of someone fighting for the wrong cause with the best intentions—misled by manipulation and deceit. I loved how Sybil challenges his beliefs, pushing him to see the truth about the horrors shifters are facing as he begins questioning everything.

And Nero? He’s the best friend everyone deserves—loyal, funny, and full of heart. I absolutely adored him. 💛

I can’t wait to watch Sybil grow into her power and see how her dynamic with Aramis evolves in the book two! ✨

Unicorn Shifter!

This was a beautifully created audio book. I loved how unique a unicorn shifter story sounded so that alone drew me in, but the author and narrators made sure to keep my interested the entire story not just for the overall idea of it. I quickly fell in love with a side character that I cannot wait to hear more from but the MFC and MMC were fun to watch blossom from enimies to lovers. I loved the little background noises added throughout and the narrators made me enjoy the story even more because they had different voices for different characters and didn’t feel monotone or boring to me. Overall a more cozy fantasy feel but a few darker moments coming from characters who you’ll love to hate.

This story line is so evocative! The cast was amazing!!! I love the idea of unicorn shifters. I grew up loving The Last Unicorn, and this is a great read/ listen. I love how two narrators can bring so many characters to life!!!!!!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
