"Ice Ice Babies": It's hard being a new mom on a barren, wintry planet. How about a mom...times two? Nora has to find a way to juggle babies, her mate, and friendships while catching the occasional nap. Can she get her groove back?

"Calm": One morning, gentle Maylak wakes up and feels a sense of oncoming dread. As the tribe's healer, it is her job to ensure that everyone is safe, happy, and healthy...and they are. So what can be threatening her people?

"Aftershocks": On the day the world shook, everything changed for the barbarian tribe. This short story goes back to the event and gives additional insight. How do Rukh and Harlow fare through the disaster? How does the chief handle the destruction of everything he's ever known?

Contains mature themes.

Love these slices of life for NotHoth. It's like an old friend hearing the narrators come back and explain some of the little things between the novels. Please Ruby give us more!

I love that Ruby went back and wrote more about the characters in the Ice Planet series. I wish the more book still coming from the series because it is so entertaining to be drawn into the ice planet world

I enjoyed these short stories about the Ice Planet residents as they live their normal everyday lives. l can't wait to listen to more stories in this series.

not a big fan of the girls voice, some of the characters she made sound snobby with her tone.

If you like this series, I recommend these novellas. Some are better than others but all give more insight into tribe life.

Fun little shorts to help you see where they are going. Recommended to read after book 8. Barbarian’s Taming

1. Having the Barbarian’s Baby - Megan and Cashol (Megan is a little to clingy for my taste)
2. Ice Ice Babies - Nora and Dagesh
3. Calm - Maylak and the tribe
4. Aftershock - Part with Harlow & Rukh, plus Georgie & Vecktol

Same narrator as the rest of the series, they do a great job.

So glad all the little short novellas were put into an audible finally sometimes I prefer listening instead of reading because it’s hard to read and drive and cross stitch lol I love all the mini novellas that goes with the main stories always exciting to read more about my favorite blue guys and their mates

Just relistened to Slices of life and loved it again. Great job Ruby. Loved these stories when I read them but audio makes the characters come to life.

"Having the Barbarian's Baby": A new baby is coming! Okay, so honestly, Megan was pretty annoying during this short story. I was RELIEVED when Cashol finally made it back. I mean I get it but still.

"Ice Ice Babies": Awwww Dagesh! Norah needs more of him! But you can't fault the man. He just wants to make sure his family is fed.

"Calm": Ahhhhhh I know this time period. This must be right before everyone has to move. Maylak and Rokan know something is up! I see what you did there Ruby!

"Aftershocks": Crazy!!! Literally crazy but I like being able to get an in-depth look at what happened during the earthquake (or volcano eruption 😉)
