Overall, the story was very enjoyable. It starts started out slow, but the pace picked up a little towards the end. The story really needed more layers and intrigue.

The story itself was ok. Not great but not bad. As another reviewer noted, it was a bit slow until the end. That said, the narration definitely detracted from this with several odd habits such as not pronouncing "t" sounds in some words (for example, frequently saying "Chapper" instead of "Chapter" or "objec-ive" instead of "objective"), mispronouncing words such as scimitar or automaton (more than just regional dialect variations could explain), or putting unusual inflections on phrases (ex, each time the book referred to a "gravity well" , the narrator read it as if the words "gravity" and "well" were parts of two separate phrases or as if a comma had been placed between them).
