An ex-pro gamer's body and mind are on the line as he fights for his life in the Hell level of a mysterious "Tutorial" in this dark fantasy LitRPG.
Lo Fennrick is going to die. Maybe later this month, maybe this very week. Either way, the homeless ex–pro gamer is only going to avoid starving if he freezes to death first.
On a snowy New Year's Eve, Fennrick negotiates one last hurrah in a seedy internet cafe, but at the stroke of midnight, he receives a tantalizing invitation: "You have been invited to join the Tutorial." And when presented with the available difficulty levels, he makes the obvious choice: Hell.
Soon, Fennrick finds himself in frenzied, violent combat, and it's a toss-up as to which he'll lose first: his life or what little sanity he has left. With his criminal record, estranged family, and nonexistent future, he's ready to accept death.
But with monsters lurking in every corner, he's surprised to find himself battling all comers—human or otherwise—in a desperate attempt to save his own worthless self. Can Fennrick emerge from Hell with a single shred of his sanity intact—or will it be game over?
The first volume of the hit LitRPG horror series—with more than 750,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

A great but weird book

Hilarious story, tear jerking moments, adorable psychopathic viewpoint, a fantastic (yummy) narration and likely to be the best litrpg you’ve ever read.
I strongly recommend this read to people who thought “the tutorial is too hard” was too easy and self-inserty. I also strongly recommend anybody reading this review to buy this book now.
A must read for thrill seeking litrpg fans.

A entertaining book on madness

The story feels like torture porn at times but that is what you should expect given the title and description. So I wasn't bored with the story, which was nice . I wasn't completely turned off by the subject matter either despite it just being a race to the bottom at times. I just wish that the story moved in a direction of being more substantive about dealing with trauma instead of being a gore fest for shock value. The interpersonal dynamics between the main character and the shades was the step in the right direction. I just wish there was more of it that went somewhere.
Despite the subject matter this is hands down the best performance I've heard from Daniel ever. He really put a lot of effort in his narration which really made the hardcore elements of the story just hit you in the feels.
This is madness

Except it's much darker, what if the "hero" is actually the monster. Going into Goblin villages and wiping them out. Killing everyone. And all there is the killing. There is no triumph. Just the killing.
This book is a tragedy. A beautiful wonderfully written tragedy of mental health and inner demons.
Amazing Subversion of the Genre
