It only happens a few times and isn't enough to detract from the story, but is quite annoying.

Not a big fan of the whisper squeaky screams.

I absolutely loved this book. I had listened to all the Seven Series books and just knew I had to read this series. I am loving it.

5 star for sure

I read the Seven(Dark) series and loved it, so I decided to start this series. I liked the story, but the lead woman drove me nuts. She had so much self pity that it was annoying. At times she got better and it made me start to like her, but then something would happen and back to the self pity, whining, and being an insolent brat I will read the next book in hopes that she grows as a person.

Two things I don't like about this narrator is: 1) she screeches; and 2) when someone "whispers" in the book, she talks so low you can't hear what she's saying.

She's so whiney

I really like this book . The others in the series not so much. But it started off good.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It’s a great book full of adventure and intrigue. A great start to a amazing series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Silver. She is a resilient courageous charecter. And can be a little dorky and funny which I like.

Which character – as performed by Nicole Poole – was your favorite?

She does a great job with all the characters but Silver is my favourite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Trying to be spoiler free. The challenge at the end.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book to this world. There are two other series by this Author. She recommends Starting with this series then Seven then Crossbreed. All her series are in the Mageri World. Not knowing the reading order I actually read the Seven series first. It’s a really, really good series too. But so you get a good handle on the Breed world I recommend like the Author sugests that you read this series the Mageri first. There is also a series cross over with book 4 in the Seven series. This book is a great slow introduction to the Breed World and all its complexities. You’ll get sucked into this amazing New World like I did and not want to leave.

Good Introduction to a amazing world

Great story and great natration only complaint is that I could have used a little more details of the scenes and characters.

pleasantly surprised

For a woman who starts out independent, she becomes quite used to depending on men for her well-being very quickly. If you like the whole damsel-in-distress plot device, you will love this book! All of that aside, I became attached to the characters and invested in the outcome of the book. It was well done, even if it isn't my favorite style. It did remind me of Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series, which I am a fan of.

cliche goodness.

Several laugh out loud moments. Several intense romantic moments. Several on the edge of your seat moments.

A twist on the classic UF leaves you wanting to know more. Sort of like Moning's first fever book.

4.5 overall. Great first installment.

It's a good 1st book intro into a new series. I listened to all the books in the Seven series, so I kinda expected a more romantic feel when listening to Sterling.

The main character is a strong heroin, but I was getting annoyed with her lack of communication. So many things she should have said to Adam and her guardian, but idiotically withheld information, leaving them to wonder. There is lots of four play but it never leads to anything. Making the heroin a huge cock tease to every man she meets. After awhile it's just annoying, especially when she almost hooks up with everyone.

I love the paranormal world Dannika creates with her story telling. But I prefer my paranormal romance stories to be a small bit more erotic than this. Not sure if I'll continue the series.

Not HOT like the Seven series, more paranormal than romance
